Please rewatch the heat race at Vegas. Stewart detroyed RV. That race mattered because it was for gate pick. RV's vegas race win was a gimmie. Stewart or Reed did not give two shits about winning that race. RV is not even close to being on Reeds level let alone Stewarts. With that said the next dominate guy after Stewart will be AC.. Yes that kid riding the 85!!! By the time this kid gets on a big bike Stewart will be retired. Right now there is not a MX or SX rider out there in the lites or big bike class right now that can challenge or even race with Stewart..

I have never really loved the second coming of the angry red head but the dude can ride a bike. I think he will bypass CR and be the man to challenge number seven in 2010 or 2011. The green bike is working good and he is pissed.

I love all these guys, I love two strokes, I love four strokes and I love the outdoors, too. But I love SX and the racing it brings so put away your bullshit baggage and talk about who has what it takes to bring a wheel in on Bubba and make it stick. Oh yeah, RC doesn't count. He is fucking retired already. And Jesus doesn't count either.
RV is great but lets not forget he got beat a bunch of times by BT and Dungey. Stewart would go 24-0 if he raced MX this yr.

Some of you guys are kidding yourselves, if you think there is anyone that can challenge a healthy Stewart. I don’t think you actually believe what you are saying, but you’re saying it and remaining hopeful.
It wouldn’t surprise me at all to see Stewart go perfect this year.

I wouldnt put $500 on perfect because too many things can go wrong, such as Reed taking him out.
But Stewart definetly has the potential to go perfect.....and he is the ONLY rider with that potential.

However, if you want to put that $500 on the Championship...... Im in Wink

I think we have seen what Reed can do and it simply isn't enough. RV and Dungey are our only hope for a competitive season in my opinion. But what the heck do I know?

I don't see any reason why not. Mike is a bad mofo outdoors. In 2008 Mike was getting closer to Stewart all the time and it is my opinion that had Mike not ragdolled at Red Bud Stewart would not have had a perfect season. But we will never know unfortunately. Either way, if and when Stewart returns to the outdoors (if ever) I think Mike and both Ryans will give him a run for his money.

RV was coming off an injury.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was just after 6 p.m. on Wednesday when Ryan Villopoto felt the urge to race.

So Villapoto, three days before this weekend’s Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open of Supercross, picked up the phone and confirmed his participation.

A day later, he sat in front of the media in the MGM Grand Garden Arena and explained his decision to compete, just short of four months after an injured ACL operation sidelined him.

Mike will be the next 450 National Champ. Is it written in stone that he will ride the 350? I think there is a small chance Mike may be on the 450. Just a wild guess.

crash, good point. rv is a badass but stewart is not human when it comes to speed and racing. there is nobody on this planet that is faster right now. alessi could possibly hang outdoors if he has the confidence to beat james and only on a select few tracks. i doubt if a ktm 350 can hold it's own on some of the uphills against factory yamahas though

nobody is belittling the other riders at all when they say stewart is too fast...he just is.

well who would ride the 350 then? switching mid season to the 450 would not be a huge selling point for the 350 now would it? isn't that 350 the crown jewel of ktm?

RMZ.... AC is good but Jesse Masterpool, and Cooper Webb can run AC's pace and beat him!! I personally watched Masterpool catch and pass AC at the mini O's....

Also, Zach and Chase Bell will be BEASTS when they hit the pros!! They have the support, program and TALENT to get there!!

As far as RV or CR running JS's pace, I think this year will be a dog fight to the end with all three right there at Vegas with a chance for the title. RV is the best of the three under pressure, JS has the most raw speed of anyone on a SX track, and CR is plain old consistent! Should be one hell of a year!!

Ty,

Glad you posted this. AC definitly has plenty of competition out there.

Keep in mind most these kids are 5 - 6 years away from being able to turn pro ,a whole lot will change by than. Heck McGrath was not even riding at there age and he turned out pretty good.

Funny how soon we forget.
James was RC's bitch outside.
I had James Stewart Entertainment outdoors 05-07.

Same old story indoors. No new variables until 377 moves up.

if RV gets the kind of confidence that he had at the end of 07 when he won the moto des nations at Budds it seems that he would be able to mix it up with JS not sure if that will be this year or in 3 years but at some point it would make for some great racing.

just sayin
budds was 07...... and all I was stating was that when rv has confidence he is no joke.. not saying that he is going to beat stewart because that is something that to this day hasn't been consistently done on a sx track...

Wishful thinking... Jeremy won so many back to back SX titles because he was gaping the field by 20 seconds. As fast as Stewart is, Reed is just a hair off his pace when he is on.

A hair off his pace when he is on? How many races was he "on" last year and what was JS's margin of victory after he coasted the last half of the final lap?

Lenny, what is funny is how certain members always bring up the Nationals when the topic is SX. They always seem to include RC in the conversation even though he isn't racing anymore.

Only if James falls, has mechanical problems or the tracks are freeways. That's just MHO.

Although I agree there are more strong-minded competitors in it this year, Reed's the only one with a half a chance at Stewart. And then realistically only in a couple races. Until someone else proves they can run Stewart down consistently, there's no reason to think he's going to be challenged.

Post a reply to: Who will and when will they challenge Stewart?
