Watching the Red Bud replay today after being there yesterday. Bubba is GREAT in the booth. Night and day compared to the other guy!
Bubba=good Ricky= 👎
Bubba is awesome in the booth. Sometimss his words aren’t right but alteast he can get them out and get his point across. If he didn’t make you a believer after his Hammaker comment nothing will. Shit was on point along with many points he made.
As I've said before. I'll take James's in the booth over the babbling Ricky any day. Rumor has it that the main reason that JT is leaving his job is because of Ricky's arrogance. It came from a pretty good source so there may be some truth in it but here again it is still just a rumor.
When you say "other guy" I hope you're not referring to Weege correct?

James is great as an analyst. I think people forget that he's not the play by play person. His job is to provide expert analysis into what is happening and he does that better than anyone. Things like suspension set up, downhills being harder on recovering wrist injuries, and riders getting tired sitting up the jump faces and how it costs them time. Those types of insights are literally non stop with James around.
Other analysts like Ricky or Emig just don't convey their own experience and knowledge like James does.
Of course James still fumbles words and uses slang. This is all new for him. He is getting more polished with every weekend and you can tell.
Yeah, you can really tell when he's reading the commercials but he's getting better at that too. The trio we have now is real good, but it's stinks we lost Blair he was good.
“Grandpas cough syrup” “throwing everything at them even the kitchen sink”- referring to Levi kitchen. “Just an average Joe” -shimoda
he had some good one liners I need to watch the race again.
He kills it - genuinely interested to hear everything he says.
The only person seem to disagree with me on is Paul Malin, my god he is boring and says the most random shit. Must be difficult announcing on your own, though.
What? JT leaving? I don’t think so right? You mean DB?
No of course not.
When Emig and RC try to make those same observations, they always come across in a demeaning way - like they are having to explain something you should already know, or like they are talking to an 8 year old.
James just has an intangible way of going on a deep dive without seeming like he's dumbing it down as a favor to us dumb fans.
I think RC is a good announcer, no complaints with him. But JS is a great announcer, very entertaining, and hilarious sometimes!
I’m stoked that James is in the booth.
I’ve got no problem with RC. I like all the different personalities and perspectives.
He is getting better. Only thing i noticed yesterday is going a touch too long when something was getting ready to happen. Weege would have to jump in. Quick in and outs no long winded stories. Put us on the bike james, shifting, braking etcZ
Keep some neck burn in the booth.
I usually do my best to tone them out during a race. I only catch about half of what they say, but I’ve enjoyed them all equally.
And “once you taste victory that is all you want to eat” or regarding a crash “he ran out of talent at that point, as my dad use to say” good shit
We tired boss, we tired
I love his delivery and casual tone. Sounds like he’s bench racing with some friends and that’s how he talks to the audience, like they’re his friends

James is scrubbing through everyone in the booth. He brings flare, insight, and charisma. I wish Ricky would slow down and bring his true thoughts on bike approach etc.
I thought that was the best James has been in the booth. He was really good Saturday. Well done.
