That's sort of my point.

If chase comes back for redbud. At 85% and is fast enough to beat the rest. But slow enough jett can confidently beat him. Jett will try to beat him. 1 for the win, 2 to get the points gap bigger.

Then jett will have in his head I can beat chase. He will try beat him each round. Then 3-4 rounds down the track chase will be 100% and they will push each other.

If chase comes back in 3 rounds time at 100% Jett could have an 80 point lead. Chase will be fast and jett will think. No point racing him.

I don't think Jett or Chase are going to ride around in second, If they are healthy they will push. When Jett fell and 94 got the lead, he could have said, ahh he's only here for 1 round, I'll take second....Or he could push and be back in the lead in a few laps. These are not "settle for second" type guys. They only want wins, and both are capable.

Jett settled for points in the 250s at the end of the championship. Until the final round after the championship was locked up anyway and nothing was on the line.

He definitely makes a risk vs reward decision on how hard he's willing to push. I think a lot of his decision on risk depends on who would be battling with though too

He's not going to risk throwing away a title to try winning a single race he doesn't need to win.

No point racing MX for him now other than making bonus money. For a guy like that, the title is the only goal and why the manufactures only pay a championship bonus. For factory riders, getting 2nd (or worse. I know, been 2nd a couple times) or getting 6th, has the same value/reward. It's why historically you saw champions, past champions or potential champions just not bother come back from an injury. RC took 04 SX off and went on to go 24-0 outdoors. I'm sure he could've came back for some SX but decided not to. He's not the only one, just the most famous one...

As far as Sexton goes, it has to be more than a concussion obviously. We hear mono, we hear relationship with Honda, we hear he's going to KTM. Seems like lot of stuff going on for him after an unexpected and dreamy SX season ending...

Will we see him work some kind of a release with Honda (after the Honda SX bonus clears haha) and show on a different bike in September in North Carolina? With the amount of money at stakes for 3 races, I'm sure everyone eligible will show up for them/it (races/bag)...

These are good points before it got derailed. Most of us watching just think “Well why doesn’t Sexton just get out there and get some races in?” We don’t see all that goes on behind the scenes.

Either way, it seems this is a good time for Sexton to recharge and come back stronger.

This is more likely.  In both motos at High Point Ken had a 10 sec lead or thereabouts over Jett and both times Jett reeled Ken in, passed him and put a nice gap on him before the finish.

Why do so many think Chase would want to sit? Isn’t there like 1.3 million reasons to want to race SMX?

I bet that has been happening at the test track for the last year.

If they have it was with Jett on a 250 but I would bet they rode at either different times or different days...they spend 90% of their time in FL

On 450s? Probably not. The Honda SX track is the only one they’d potentially ride at the same time and Jett just moved up, so…

Chase had his bell rung and mono and Jett could barely deal with him.

Sexton and jett have most definitely practiced together recently. If that was motos together or separately I don't know.

But the few Honda test days in Cali they were both there. Like the day chase crashed at pala.

ATM jetts point lead vs races left isn't enough. Putting Kenny between his competitors or a 90% chase. He would do that to gap his points lead.

So if chase came back at redbud jett would try get the win to make the gap bigger.

If chase is 100% healthy jett will only ride as fast as he is comfortable.

To be fair, outside of Pala 2 with Chase, High Point is the only time Jett was pushed speed wise, due to Kenny deciding to race.  And while he still went 1-1, he did go down in a moto.  Just goes to show that when pushed to a higher limit, the best of the best will still make mistakes.  I have no doubt that if Chase were 100% right now and he and Jett were racing each other, Jett would be borking it up here and there too - just like when Eli and Chase had their moments last year.  Without Ken, Chase, or Eli to push Jett the other riders just aren't fast enough to push him at an uncomfortable pace.

As fans, we need Chase in the outdoors ASAP.

This year has probably been the biggest bummer of a year for me in a long time.  Not only is Chase injured, but Eli, at the top of his game on the verge of clinching another title, was injured and it has taken him out of the outdoors.  Seeing Jett, Chase and Eli would have been the coolest thing ever.

Where in that post does it say Sexton is 100%? It says he’s ready to compete. I’d be shocked if he’s 100% after mono.
