If he is using a VPN that would let him spoof his IP address right?  Assuming that's how You were looking for him.

Why are you looking for where someone lives ?

If someone has a different opinion to you on a subject on a forum, why would a normal person waste any time trying to find out where they live ?

Vargue verb
vargued; varguing

intransitive verb

1: To give reasons for or against a Stark Varg's purchase, delivery or existence: REASON
Vargue for a new Stark Future Varg

2: To contend or disagree on Vital in words: DISPUTE
They're always varguing about the production numbers of the Varg.

I think it was to mail him a gold star sticker.  And it sounds like Goldmember has posted where he or she lives someplace in another thread or something. So the person who posted the location may have found it unintentionally and just posted to help aid in the delivery of the Gold Star sticker.

What are the requisites to become a moderator on Vital?

I'd say Goldmember should be a mod on some threads. it's all fair to have alternate points of view. He seems to have done his research but maybe we lack the intellect to grasp the complexities of the arguments he is bringing. ( popcorn bag opens )

I kid, I kid... not?Laughing

Hey, you know how there are fantasy stuff where people gamble and bet on races? ... maybe Vital could have a Industry Happenings fantasy league, where we can make bets on things like the Varg, Triumph, Suzuki E-start, silly season etc...anything where vitards can put their money where their mouth is... and see the ranking of successful/ failed predictions of Vitards.  Cannot have a fresh account, must be a veteran Vitard at least... Cool

Not sure if this has been discussed before, but these other Vargs spotted in France and featured on Instagram... seem to be Beta testers. Which makes sense, Stark guys can drive from Spain to France to upgrade the bikes and keep further development.

It does make sense, from a manufacturing point of view and my opinion, as someone involved in consumer goods manufacturing, to delay mass production as much as possible to finalize as many little quirks and improvements rather than having to catch up and issues worldwide retrofits, add-ons, etc...

Judging from all of Anton's interviews, this is the vibe I am getting. The pressure on them to deliver is not as big as we think. We are thinking short term. "gimme my bike, gimme my bike, where is the bike?, show us the bike, you ain't shit" But these guys have a plan and it is a little more long term than just satisfying our impatience. There is a bigger picture. We have to admit we are not the center of the world and we are not that big of a critical mass as consumers. Our eagerness to get the bikes and venting our anger on forums and write nasty comments on Insta is but a tornado in a teapot.

I am still waiting for my Cybertruck. It was announced by a much larger company with more resources before the Varg. in hindsight, Stark is doing quite a feat. I know it's different. Sure, some of you have built many houses and made more kids while the varg hasn't been released yet. But anyone who has worked in a start up, from idea to market it's quite a journey.

Time will tell if they sell the joint,  go under like Alta, divert or what not. I just appreciate someone is attempting something from a technological point of view. Stark is following the pioneering that the Lito and the early Huskies did. I have to applaud that.

I have reservations and criticism on the politics of the Varg, but I can appreciate another toy or technical development when someone tries.  I still think MXA should have a 500 two stroke grafted into a Varg chassis to compare.

I have no idea whether this is a concern or not.  I know there are several of you here that have strong engineering backgrounds.  Can anyone explain to me what the difference is in the Varg battery that makes this scenario impossible?  Sounds like this has happened with E-bikes more than once.  I know the entire fleet of Moto-E bikes that race alongside Moto-GP went up in flames in the pits at a race a few years back.

Until somebody pulls the Stark battery apart, nobody will know know for sure, but..

Lithium ion battery fires start due to physical damage to the battery, over current, over voltage, over temperature, under temperature or a short circuit which includes dendrite growth.

The guy in your link brought a cheap scooter and took the battery into his apartment, the link doesn't say how the battery was being charged, the charger may have had no protection for over current or voltage, and no monitoring of battery temperature.

If the Stark's electronics are well designed, current, voltage and temperature will be controlled while charging, the battery case should protect each battery cell from physical damage, which leaves short circuit from dendrite growth.

Honda is developing solid-state batteries which have a lower risk of dendrite growth, than batteries with a liquid electrolyte.

If you want to minimize dendrite growth, don't charge the bike at low temperatures!

They aren't the only startup to develop solid-state batteries, Honda wants to do everything in-house to control costs.

This is definitely a concern especially if you are charging things in your house or apartment and not in a garage or separate space. It's like leaving a cup, pint, or 5 gallons of gasoline laying around your house. It's not that dangerous until it is.

However, now that people have seen what types of things electrics have unlocked development on, going back to having no big batteries around isn't really an option. Safety improvements will need to be made now that the electric cat is out of the bag.

They aren't solid state, they're silicon anode. Solid state doesnt automatically solve the thermal runaway/expansion issues

I stand corrected, Enovix batteries are a silicon anode battery.

Solid-state reduces but does not eliminate dendrite growth, so a reduced chance of the battery to short circuiting, causing thermal runaway.

Okay, I try to explain why and especially what happens and what are the main causes and solutions.
Batteries when put under stress, they overheat. They need to be cooled down or decrease the stress they are sustaining in the case of a car or motorcycle, for example reduce speed.
Dangerous becomes if with overheated batteries, they are connected to a supercharger, in which case they can burning or even explode.

Software can prevent problems by adjusting them electronically by minimizing their power while driving.

Same goes for preventing explosion or fire. Software can reduce the charging power of an overheated battery and charge it very slowly in safety.

Ktm and Honda (just to name two serious example firms), know this problem well and at the end of the day prefer to avoid the problem that can become very dangerous. Cost benefits.

They have been trying to solve it for years , but it is not enough to produce a real competition vehicle that can be sold safely to the public. Let it be "light" and really offer what it "promises" without then having scandals that could be dangerous for marketing.

For cars it is easier, as weight is less important. And also software is easy to put in for controllig

The discussion is very very long.... But at least it opens the eyes of many people (hopefully)

I haven't been going out of my way to stay apprised of the Stark delivery situation so pardon my ignorance.....What exactly is the holdup? Stark has a factory in Spain. Are they still dealing with the global supply chain crisis? Are there a bunch of factory employees in Spain waiting around for a container of microchips from Asia? How long does it take to assemble one of these bikes? Are they still developing it?

Why ask all those questions? Are you uptight and impatient?

Rest assured the Stark Varg is by far the Best MX Bike Ever Made.

They will be ready when they are ready.

I agree with the 'small market' sentiment, and to be honest I am fairly surprised that Stark Future is not producing a street legal small electric motorcycle to try to help spread out development costs and increase revenues.  A nice little city bike with a 100 mile-ish range could be a great way to get some cash flow, and it probably wouldn't need to have the same amount of durability built into it like the Varg does.

If I were to guess, I'd say they are probably developing a street-legal bike even as I type. Perhaps a city bike, perhaps an adventure bike, perhaps an enduro, perhaps all three. Wouldn't be surprised to see a trials bike, either, and I'd say smaller racers (65cc equivalent, 85cc equivalent) are as good as a lock.

One of the freedoms they have in not attaching a specific year to their bike (the Varg is just Model 1, or some such lingo), is that they can manufacture that bike far into the future, even after they release an all-new next-generation bike. This approach allows them to slowly drop the price of that existing bike, as their initial production costs (mold making, motor castings, etcetera) are long gone. It's a smarter way to go, and yet another reason why the other OEMs are likely banging their fists on their polished-mahogany boardroom tables wondering how the hell they got out-smarted so badly by a tiny little nobody.

Anton has said that they plan on having a full line of motorcycles right from the first interview I heard . And they wanted to do the Full sized MX bike intended to compete with 450's first because it would be the hardest to make one that outperforms a 450 in many ways. He also said making a street bike would be easier after they build the Varg. Weight would be less concern with a streetbike . And that the Varg would be the face of Stark as a performance brand. In the same way that Chevy has the Corvette and ford has the GT.

Whatever is holding up production of the Varg might also hold up production of a street model. If I was a Varg buyer who was still waiting on my bike I would be disappointed if they put out another bike that was announced after the Varg that also came out sooner than the Varg. And it would give me a more legit reason for concern. Perhaps they could give a reason and stop speculation. But I can see reasons they may not want to or be able to. Contracts with suppliers may not allow them to say , or it could reveal trade secrets as far as production lines or whatever it is that is the issue. They have said they are trying to stop the preorders of the Varg, so I would assume that putting out another bike for people to pre order that had an ETA of 2025 or 26, would not be a big help right now. Perhaps they have them already designed and are using the promise of a full line to help sign up dealers. And Just do not want that info public yet.

It doesn't seem like its lack of sales or the limited market that is holding them up right now. Or maybe it is. Maybe if they could have ordered 100k units of an item instead of 25k or whatever amount, they could have gotten them from a bigger supplier that could have delivered already. Or it would put them into the level of it making more sense to build an item themselves . Its hard to really say forsure without knowing exactly what is keeping them from running the production line at full speed.

If Anton is really telling the truth, he went into it thinking that if he could sell 5000 bikes he would be doing well. Alta sold around 1000 bikes so that is 5 times as many. Then they had 18K preorders and realized that there were many more people ready for an electric MX bike than they had even thought of. All of a sudden the sourcing for parts changes , it opens up more ways of making the parts that make up the bike. And They might have gone from having other places make some of the parts they are making in house now. Or needing to find a new supplier that could handle the increased demand. Anton was talking about some of that in the Gypsy tales podcast that  there is a link for a page or so back.

I would be more surprised if there was not a steady stream of new models coming out when they are able to fix whatever is slowing the Varg production.

I didn't realize that there are no model years attached to the bikes.  Does that mean that people who title their motorcycles will not be able to obtain a title for these?  Is there not a VIN number to identify the bike that has a model year digit in it?

As long as they have a vin and date of manufacture and comes with a certificate of origin  I would think you could title it. They go off the year its made and not the model year right?  The model Year is more of a naming thing these days anyway. Most bikes are made in the year before the year in their name. I have not seen or heard Stark say this. But it wouldn't surprise me if they went that way. It sounds like a Tech company way of doing stuff.  You could still have  Varg model 1  that was made in 2024 or 2022 and they would call it the model 1 so people know its the same bike.  Cat has a letter after the number that tells you what generation an excavator is. They still have the date of manufacture , but its less important than the hours on the machine and what generation it is.

They're a technology company he says, and mentions wanting to sell to other companies (even outside of motorcycle). So I still think they never intended to be a manufacturer, rather wanted to sell the technology to KTM/Honda/Etc; that has yet to happen, so now they're playing catch up on the manufacturing side.

My experience with sourcing, and building products makes me think that is what they ar dong, just like people who have worked with tech startups are seeing the signs of that being what Stark is doing. TIme will tell what happens, I could see it going many different ways. I think the Varg was too expensive to develop to sell as just the technology. People have been saying the patents on the battery are not very strong in limiting others. The bike itself , while amazing ,it is not really anything that an established brand could not have done themselves. I just think it would have cost more than they could sell it for as a concept.  I think that if Anton's plan was to sell, that he was planning on producing the varg and selling enough of them so that Stark  sold many more bike's than Alta.

Anton has  said that he wants to have other bikes and that he MX bike was the hardest to make because of the performance and durability a MX bike needs to have . I think that he intended and intends on building the Varg and selling it to have a proof of concept and then sell  the company along with the designs for multiple other bikes  that would be sold based on the proof of concept the Varg provided. At that point they would have  a working way of producing the motorcycles and some real sales numbers along with a dealer network.  Selling at that point or even after making some more of those models might have been or could still be his original plan. I hear things that make me think he's in it for the long-haul and some that make me think he's using Stark to build towards something else. He said a dream of his  ,is to build a flying car that was mass produced. And that he wouldn't risk Stark to build it, so perhaps he has plans to sell his part of Stark in the long run. Like he did with MX24 to allow him to be able to be building Stark future and the Varg.

It will be interesting to watch.

I don’t know if you “erased” his name or not, but it’s also down in the bottom left.
