Seems kind of strange they are pulling so much talent from europe for rides when there are more than a few american based riders still looking for a ride.....if they are in fact turning down rides because the don't pay enough then they don't deserve them. Sometimes a rider just needs to get his name out there and put in a few good rides to get his name back on the map which will lead to a better paying long term ride. Im so happy the incentive based contracts are making a return, the party is over!

It's a four-race deal, helping out another team Yamaha rider from Europe. It's not like he's taking away a ride from someone here.

So he can pedal fast? Pedaling sucks! But anyway, I've seen him ride, he is good, but most pros are. We will see if his big, powerful legs help him twist a throttle. hahha

Yeah I really didn't want to impose that he is taking a ride away but there are a lot of anerican based riders that could use a 4 race ride to jump start their career weather they are from america or not ....riders that came over in the last few years and now dont have a ride.

GP21's very fast indoors, he may surprise some people. Top 5 first race if he doesn't crash (which happens to him on a regular basis, i have to admit). Even faster on a 450's, as he's quite a big dude.

Paulin ia factory Yamaha rider in Europe for Rinaldi if Yamaha still had their official team he'd be under their tent. I think it's good for him just like DV12 used to do or Pourcel after that go and do the first few races to learn and practice. He won his moto at the MXDN so potential is here. He wants to go stateside in 2011 and race SX so he needs to do good. I was hoping Musquin would be able to do the same.

Watch out for injuries though!

Paulin is an amazing rider very very technical, suits a 450 more though as we seen at the des nations, he will do really well in supercross, he is a cross between DV and Pourcel imo and he is very confident and good under pressure.

I think you're confusing things: there is no 4th spot available at Star, even for only 4 races. There's no opportunity for any rider to have a 4-race ride at Star. GP21 is not taking anyone's spot.
He's a factory Yamaha rider, Star is a Yamaha-support team, Yamaha brings GP to the US to get a taste of SX for a possible move in 2011 and Yamaha asks Star to carry the bike and use their awning.

If Factory Yamaha didn't have this plan for him, there would be no 4th bike under Star at the first 3 or 4 SX (I thought he was only coming for 3 races at first).

And so what if he did. Albee just went their way and if it gives the team a better chance to succeed and continue relations over seas...why not. This is how we got DV.
