There is possibly something coming pretty soon that will give you Sur Ron buyers remorse. I've see photos and talked to people that have ridden them. There will be a US dealer network already in place for them.

Roughly same size as the Sur Ron and in the same price range. Stronger engine and bigger battery. Comes with full size dirt bike wheels and tires. Much much better ergonomics.

that would be cool, i always wondered if the stock brakes and wheels would hold up to abuse on the surrons. Did the OP ever post if he got a bike or not?

Sur Ron’s are a blast. Just steer clear of those agro mountain biker clickety clacker fags and their precious trails. If you so much as move a pebble on “their” trails, you’ll be up shit creek and they’ll complain on PinkBike and MTBR.com and then go cry to their wives and girlfriends, and boyfriends that they have to negotiate ruts and pebbles in their pristine trails.

If you knew how precarious access is for some of these trails you'd understand. The trails I've been volunteering at for the last 15 years are on DNR property, and they're already semi-hostile towards us mountain bikers. They're looking for a reason to shut the trail system down. Now I got some 13yo genius out there ripping the place up on a freaking Surron and I'm trying to get out in front of this before DNR gets involved.

I (like many others) have hundreds of hours of volunteer time devoted to maintaining our trails, and to have some dipshit like yourself selfishly poach them for you temporary pleasure gets us a little riled-up. But you strike me as someone who has the same mentality as that 13yo, so I'm sure you don't understand the gravity of all this. Have fun on your Power Wheels.

Is it going to be Chinese manufacturing still ?

My rims have held up just fine, brakes are shitty but new pads help.

I'm not sure but given the price I would guess yes. Shooting for an October release date.

The thing about the Talaria and Surron is they’re like motorized Mountain bikes - light nimble, easy to play around on or commute short distances. The bigger and heavier you go, it defeats the purpose of what makes these bikes so much fun and practical.

So I ordered units this morning. Look for a press release soon. I have more specs. 40 mph top speed, 2 levels 50-100 miles in level 1 and 30 -60 on level 2. 2-3 hours recharge time on 115V. USD fork adjustable. Comp and rebound and preload adjustable shock. 150 lbs.  21/19 wheel combo. $4690 MSRP Available in October. BTW there is going to be a major press release from this same mfg possibly today on another subject.

Why the cloak and dagger? No one’s really watching this thread anyway.

I'm a dealer and I only takes the wrong person to see this and get me in hot water. I think the announcement is coming soon. It was on our dealer order site today so I'm sure they will have the info out soon.

Everyone who has gotten one said it feels like a Surron with all the upgraded parts but better.

There has been a problem with the Talaria slipping into “reverse”, though.

Those people must have upgraded controllers then because the stock Talaria setup is terrible.  The Surron is just a solid bike that works, you can ride it stock (aside from upgrading to roller bearings for the head set that’s a must) and have all the fun you need on it without any need to upgrade electronics.  The Talaria sounds better in theory but I’m telling you guys in real life it’s not the case.  The stock linkage is sloppy as hell as well on the Talarias, be forewarned.

I've got a talaria with nearly 700 miles.

Broke the stock chain and left footpeg bracket.

Linkage did need grease when new, no slop at 700 miles.

Had to replace the stock forks after about 300 miles. Striction got hilariously bad. Rebuild didn't help, now have Marzocchi 888r on there. Blew those too.

Bike has been rock solid otherwise. No issues at all with battery motor or controller. Electronics have been working great. Everything is stock electronically.

Do you mean you blew the seals on the forks?

I wanna get one so bad. They make a pedal kit you can install for “compliance” which technically makes it an e-bicycle and you dont need a plate to ride it on the street.

Obviously for hitting the track a regular dirt bike cant be beat but when you just wanna screw around and have some fun by the house these things are silent so nobody even notices, sounds like a pretty good deal.

Have you ridden any other e-bikes to have a reference point though?  I’m not saying you’re going to burn up the controller or have a failure, it’s just not tuned well compared to others.

the seals blew at one point but the big issue was "sticktion". the forks would require a ton of force to slide up and down. even taking them apart and servicing them didnt help for long

I rode a completely stock surron. Its the reason i got a talaria. the surron was a blast.

The geared transmission vs the belt was why i went talaria. the surron throttle curve is better than the talaria for sure. Im the only one in my friend group that has one.
