I was surprised how spread out the top guys were yesterday. At the end of the 2nd moto, especially. Jett and Chase were doing 2:27s, Ferrandis was 5 seconds a lap slower in the :32s, and AC9 was over 14 seconds a lap slower, running :42s! I sure hope both Jett and Chase can stay healthy to make this somewhat interesting until the end.
That's what you get with only 5 or 6 factory guys lining up. Not a lot of people pushing the various position battles along.
What are you talking about? None of us has any clue what laptimes were! Those times and positions changed thru out the race. Just like SX. Completely inaccurate. The ONLY way to get times is if the teams do it with a stopwatch. I wouldn’t trust AMA times for a second. Totally unprofessional. My local promoter has no problem with MY times but AMA can’t keep straight what place half the pack is in let alone what the lap times are. Yeah…..No
Did anyone talk about what was wrong with AC9?
You can't be serious?

In other news I do want to congratulate our lovely tv crew for having the wrong color bikes with the riders on the tv pylon.
Never Change Bondo, Never Change
Bondo switching is still off. Its almost like he wants to miss the pass or battle we all see coming. Thankfully they did ok with the box in box. Also why wasn’t fast laps occasionally shown?
Ferrandis has only been back on the bike for 2 weeks. Chase and Jett have lost no time on their bikes. Is it really that big of a surprise that he was off a little bit? Yesterday went exactly the way I thought it would.
Yeah it's bad. Me and my friends were joking if your guy isn't in the position you want, just keep looking at the ticker cause eventually he will be before he drops back down to where he actually is....or not.
Oh AC went down in the first turn and he's already in the top 10 YES!! oh wait, never mind. Shit JoeBlow already has a 6sec gap on DicTrickle....yeah - no. The live timing is just a suggestion it's def not real-time scoring like any local promoter can do with MyLaps. I know it sounds wacky like it should either work or not...where do the arbitrary numbers even come from and what algorithm just randomly places riders in odd orders....temporarily.
If you didn't notice that yesterday or all year long in SX, it could be because you're at the race and not paying attention to the replay when you watch it.
Obviously, the AMA gets its timing from somewhere but it's def not from the live timing that's broadcasted
Yes 250s I think I saw Hampshire up to sixth in the 2nd moto when he was actually 14th
450 was similar
Ridiculous.
The riders are timed to one thousandth of a second and the transponder timing is for the record.
Broadcast information is not always accurate or updated immediately.

I know it was comical, I can't even think of specifics other than at one point they had AC, Deegan, Ferandleberry, Rick James, Sushi, and I think I remember Maximus being way down in the order at one point that was incorrect all either in the wrong position or with way unrealistic gaps. During EVERY single SX I watched it was the same thing - and I'm watching with multiple people who are all laughing at the discrepancies - not complaining I've just accepted it, however, it was one of the biggest complaints of the Vitard cognoscenti just a few short weeks ago.
EDIT nevermind I actually didn't read your second sentence, I thought you disagreed with me and just started typing. You agree with me, you just misunderstood what I said and sent me a pdf of race results.
"Broadcast information is not always accurate or updated immediately."
Tru Dat. But why not? Why isn't what is broadcast the actual live time? Where is it coming from if not the transponders in real-time?
Ferrandis is my favorite 450 rider and I was stoked to see how well he rode yesterday with no gate drops in a long, long time.
I believe he's referring to the race order and live timing, streaming on the broadcast. It was atrocious. The race order, gaps and lap times were all over the place. And on the other hand, I'm sure the OP is referring to real lap times, not the suggestions being broadcasted.
He actually said in his interview on the broadcast that he has been back on the bike for 5 weeks...not sure where you're getting two weeks
Saw in another thread from Saturday someone said 2 or a little over 2. My bad. Even with 5 weeks against guys that have been non stop is still just as good in my eyes.
Unless the last few factory guys get injured. Then we'll basically be watching 30+min LCQs which could be quite entertaining
