not racing mx2? Its obvious he could compete and beat many of the racers in mx2 right now.
Anyone... Anyone?

I like how much press he got yesterday, none. Half the show was about Vialle or the 4th and 5th place KTM riders.
Not sure, but I saw him last year at Budds when he first came over and the kid has an incredible riding style. I’d expect good things out of him moving forward.
He's going to surprise a lot of people this year, this is the first time in his career that he has good equipment. Back when the spanish federation started the EMX125 team he was the best in the team, last year it was a rollercoaster for him, started the year as a GasGas rider for the Spanish Mx2 championship, was a title contender but got injured, then he got a ride for a german team to race EMX250 and the German MX2 championship (he won that one), but the bike was pretty much a stock one.
This year he was going to race in the MX2 World championship for FH Kawasaki, he had the deal lined up but a call from Star Racing to test the bike changed everything, his FH Kawaski ride was for another spaniard, Braceras.
As an Spaniard myself, it's pretty cool to see him now, in the top 10 in AMA 250, and it shows how much Motocross is growing in Spain, with Prado leading the MXGP championship, Rubén third in the MXGP standings and Guillem in the AMA, plus up and coming amateurs like Escándel in the EMX125 doing well. This success was unthinkable a few years ago

Because he
doesn’t want to, I suppose
Because
Maybe because
he gets paid
more now in his first "trial" year
than 95% of MX2 riders
Because he wants to be racing here. That’s it. He doesn’t need your validation for his decisions. Sorry you struggle to accept this.
Met him at budds. Super polite guy. A fan for sure
This has been the case for many years, but one day the bubble will burst and MXGP will not be sustainable.
And the day the bubble bursts, the MX2 world title will have the same value as the 250A title in Lorettas, and the MXGP title will have the same value as the Open Pro Sport title in Lorettas.
Either the FIM and Infront start taking action or this will happen sooner rather than later.
Si es cierto, hay muchos españoles muy buenos, pero con eso de que el gobierno cada vez quiere ser más euro-like,a ver si no pasa lo mismo que en el resto de Europa, que cada vez prohíben y regulan todo
Because nobody really wanted him in Europe. Some decent finishes here, flashes of speed but inconsistent, both in EMX250 and the handful of MX2 races.
He had an offer from F&H so I wouldn't say that no one wanted him...
He had the chance to join Kawasaki F&H, and then the Star Yamaha opportunity appeared. And he decided to skip the Kawi option and give it a try with Star (with any contract at that moment). For many Euro riders, despite the lasts years polemics about the supposed mxgp superiority, to join the supercross & nationals at the States is still a dream (and also there's more money at the grid). Even Prado said this year in an interview, that if he wins the title, the USA option can be a real thing again.
If anybody is interested in Guillem's life path to the States, and you're able to understand Spanish, I strongly recommend you these two podcasts (two different interviews with Guillem), on the first one he explains how all the Star Yamaha deal came out, and on the second one (which was released last week) he talks about the preseason how is everything going on at the States.
The podcast is named Red Plate MX Podcast.
Episodes 65 and 78.
If he stays riding this way . Spain will have a hell of a team for mxon
Yup
On a start-dependent track with a star bike and the world's best starter as his team mate.
Yes it is true, there are many very good Spaniards, but given that the government wants to be more and more Euro-like, let's see if the same thing doesn't happen as in the rest of Europe, that every time they prohibit and regulate everything
Pit Row
I heard from a few sources that the offer for him was quite decent, but nowhere close to what Star could offer him. Hats of to him to make the jump to the USA. He had a hard few years in Europe. Raths took him over for EMX250 and ADAC with the resources he had and made the link with Star. It’s a shame I don’t understand Spanish because i’d love to hear the podcasts
He came to our local track a lot when he was on 125s and with his riding style it was lovely to watch. Plus he’s a very humble guy. Always in for a talk and his English is decent. Justin Cooper and his fiancé are helping him out in the USA by the way, cool to see
Yes there are a lot of pay to ride rides in GP.
The 2 spots from F&H are not one of those.
Exactly
Didn't that offer come following his Star fill-in rides?
Without that, F&H don't make any offer, let alone try to match it.
Nobody was knocking his door down until he raced a few Nationals. He would still be wanted in Europe had that opportunity not arisen, probably on a private team with a bike and place to ride with little to no pay, ala Raths.
F&H offer was before Star fill-in. They thought they had a deal before he popped up in the US for his surprise debut with Star.
Thanks for the correction, I was told it was afterwards.
It would've been interesting to see what he could do with F&H, they are a good outfit.
Looks like a lot of posts disappeared in this topic.
I think Brent's post calling F&H a joke disappeared.
Actually, I used the term "Shit Show"
I was asked by someone I respect to take my posts on the subject down.
Not sure why F&H is a shit show.
Horgmo finished 4th in the world champs last year, and is now in 8th. Biggest difference imo is that guys like De Wolf, Benistant, Everts, vd Moosdijk missed big parts of the championship last year and now when riding everything are in front of Horgmo. And Adamo really stepped up after moving to KTM.
I think Brent was more referring that F&H doesn't pay their riders. He said you have to pay to be on that team.
I'm not sure it's really the truth but he claims he knows people around the situation.
But how much would that offer have cost him?
He has shown flashes, but not enough to be top of everyones shopping list,
