He has a legit shot at the championship. He'll be consistent and it will be tough for Chase. My money is still on Chase to win it all but I'm from Illinois so that's how that will always be
I think it's better to have him in the championship and I'm honestly surprised he lines up for the first round (didn't expect him to line up for outdoors at all), but I don't think he will contend for the championship. He will be a 4-6 guy on most weekends and maybe win a moto at like spring creek or whenever there is some rainy conditions.
By the way, I think it's insane how many bad hits his back/neck/head can take without beeing seriously injured, he's a tough MF.

Damn, I just realized if this SMX continues with only 11 outdoor rounds, Ricky and James’ 24-0 record will never be matched. I was kinda hoping to see someone else do it.
What "tests?"
Concussion protocol. If he was diagnosed with a concussion, as I recall he was, he wouldn't be released by medical until he passes the neurocognitive test.
"Riders are evaluated in our Alpinestars Mobile Medical Unit, where we make a determination that they've had a concussion, and then they're required to have a physician evaluation, to undergo a neurocognitive test, and to follow a supervised return-to-ride program."
I'm willing to bet Cooper was passing neurocognitive tests with flying colors the night of the crash in Nashville.
He was cleared to ride. That's why he returned to training.
Any rider cleared to ride would be silly not to race ATM even if they are not 100% ready.
With 6 factory riders on the line. You would imagine a top guy like Webb, barcia or Anderson could take it easy and coast to a 10 or better.
Who would be 10th in this field? Like a Marshall welton or drake.

10th? Going to be super tough to pick. Could a Jose Butron pull it off? Jerry Robin? Even Locurcio? Josh Mosiman? Brandon Pape? Drake certainly seems possible.

So u would expect an injured barcia and Webb to beat most of those privateers. A 6-10 will be good for logging them points.
webb will be top 5 as well and wld have AC covered i wld imagine.
Webb has a legit shot at the SuperDuper MX title so not surprised he is showing up. Probably his last real opportunity for it. They all would like to win that title in year one of the series. Plus he is probably looking for a ride in 2024 so is motivated.
Has there been anymore talk about him going to Star or is all silly season games?

It’s crazy how people talk about him like he’s a 10th place guy outdoors, he’s just not a dominant winning speed but two years ago he had multiple podiums
He's been in the 450 class since 2017.
He has a total of 4 podiums.
He has 1 win which he got in 2019 and three 3rd place finish which he got in the last three rounds of 2021.
Average finishing position 8.02
With the field being depleted those stats are going to go up, but he's never been a title contenter for the outdoor championship since moving up to the 450 class.
