Crazy season in the gncc xc1 class. Makes it fun to follow when there’s so many great riders that can win at any time. XC2 has also had some great racing. The pro quad guys have been keeping it interesting too. Great year so far if you’re into woods racing.

From what I have seen it’s been a crazy amount of rain races this year that is really tearing up the bikes and needing total rebuilds after every race.

What is your recommendation in regards to watching the series? A solid YouTube channel and/or other? Thank you in advance.

Racertv.com has them all live plus you can go back and watch the old ones.  It’s not like watching sx or mx on tv though. These are long races and only a few camera and drone shots, so it’s not constant action, but the announcers do a good job of calling the race as it goes on.

And yes, there’s been a few mud races this year, but that’s pretty common each year.  The GA race back in March was crazy muddy.  I did the Ironman race back in 21 and that one was a washout. I quit doing the super mudders after that one, just not worth it to destroy my bike.

Pretty exciting year for sure!

I thought Zach-O would be a little more up to speed now being that it's his 3rd race back....hopefully he figures it out soon, Yamaha wrote him a HUGE check (in off road $$$ at least) I'm sure they were hoping for a little better than 41st overall.

7 winners in 7 rounds says there aren't any great riders just a bunch of good ones. It may be exciting racing because of the parity but greatness by definition means setting yourself out against the field. That being said I think Stu will start separating from the pack.

On the pipe podcast on YouTube. He does solid raw edits after each round, definitely check him out. If you wanna watch the replay of the whole race or even watch it live racertv has that on YouTube as well.

Didn’t Zach do real well at an ISDE?  Like, really really really well.

Sixth in class at the 2013 Sardinian ISDE, won his class final Moto. Sardinia had no 'Enduro' / Terrain  tests, all Moto type tests.

2014 - Argentina - out the first day. Can't recall if it was physical, or mechanical

A back injury stopped his Moto career, if I recall correctly.

How he could get through GNCs with a 'iffy' back, I do not know. You take such a pounding, in ever ( well, more than the changes , generally, seen on an MX track during a 30 minute  + 2 lap  moto) changing ground conditions, over a longer length of time.

I hope I'm wrong on his current results being down to lingering injury - Moto / Offroad is a better sport with a bloke like Zach around.

If I remember correctly, it was the g-outs in supercross transitions that flared his back injury. That's why he switched to woods.

And he is moving to XC-1 next year. He would be better off running the industry class in the am.

I'm pretty shocked he's not doing better.

It’s not because of lack of talent or lack of heart that he’s not doing better.  Zach can ride a motorcycle off road, MX, or SX with the best of them.  He’s got to be dealing with injury, no different then Thad and Ben as well.

I didnt know that Zacho is moving to XC1 next year, thats tough to imagine he wont be getting last place or close to it. Im a big fan of the guy but if you look at this years field its 12 XC1 riders and 7 of them have won races.

I feel like there has been more mechanicals this year than ever. Two mud races so some of that was to be expected I know a couple of those were from mud being sucked into the bikes.

Jordan Ashburn's drain plug fell out two rounds ago, he won this sunday.

Stu Baylor had to pit to replace his whole rear brake assembly for whatever reason.

Ben Nelko has had like 3 DNF from mechanicals this year.

I was thinking FI had created a more closed system on the bikes, decreasing the number of entries for mud and water, and improving reliability from that aspect.

But there has been a LOT of mud and water to deal with this year.  Crazy.

Maybe he's got another injury that we don't really know about....

Sucks for all parties....if I was Liam Draper who has been getting on the box but making probably 15% of what ZachO is....I'd be asking for a raise!

Has to have an injury.
