So who made the list for this Friday? Harlan hurt his shoulder so he is out I'm guessing.

Is there a way to watch this? Would be cool if pulp could stream something on YouTube?

Marty isn’t a privateer and has made a ton during his racing career. Kinda defeats the purpose of the event.

I think he has made too many mains to get into the race anyhow. It’s based off points for 5 or worse in lcq races, and wild cards.

He's way to fast for this race. He faster than Chiz

I think the joke was Marty hasn’t ridden in months and he said he wouldn’t ride until the race and take last gate pick

Would just like to clarify, this is the LCQ challenge, so points are accumulated by guys not making mains on the regular. There's a couple wildcards selected by Steve, but Yoder for instance, will be on a 250 @ elevation.

Guys like Bloss, Starling, Harlan, Clason... were all doing too well to qualify for this race.

Also, AMA wouldnt let anyone ride who isnt "current" and doesnt carry an SX license.

Aside from streaming, can an average local joe purchase a ticket for Friday, i.e., is there any way I can attend all day Friday??  Thanks!

Would have been nice to see Moranz get a wild card but I know he's been making most of the mains.  Super cool of Steve to do this and I got my losing ticket ready to go.

I agree, guys like Starling and Moranz although top 20 in points are real privateers out of a van,

but after Chiz cleaned up last year and the whinging that it produced, he was a bit harder on the guys that are going to get top 20 prize fund money

If your out of a van you should eligible for the wildcard spot regardless if your 12th or 25th.

Look at the stuff starling goes thru to make it to all the rounds.

Starling would easily win which is what they’re trying to avoid. Chiz started in the second row last year and still won.

How did Piazza qualify from Nashville when he was suspended? Dude gets punished for being a douche, but it qualifies him for a money race?

I agree. It’s a Privateer Challenge, yet true privateers are ruled out because they’re going too well? That’s a tough call. Let guys like Starling and Moranz go head to head and have a chance to win a race other than the LCQ.

Chiz has a career number (top 10 in points to earn). Chiz has raced for factory teams and He is on a team. So he shouldn't be in a privateer challenge. Yet he was allowed.

Starling is a true privateer ATM. His lowest number has been 56, 60 a few times.

I get the points system they use. But he should be allowed in regardless if he makes most mains.

Freddy noren and Josh Cartwright are both in. 1 qualified, 1 is a wildcard. Both are within a few points of starling.

If the goal is to reward top privateers. He should be in.

If the goal is to reward not so good privateers. It should end in a raffle or random prize money.

The goal is to reward privateers who don’t make main events. Starling and Moranz make mains. Kinda rooting for Yoder or Neese as they are both riding 250’s against a field of 450’s at elevation. Also looking forward to Simonsen getting his haircut. Hopefully they go with a bowl cut 😂

I was 100% a privateer last year. I paid for EVERYTHING out of my own pocket to go racing. Yes that’s different this year but referencing last year, I was a complete privateer. I paid for my bikes, sign up, travel, mechanic, etc.. So that was my stance last year with the race that I was a privateer and it’s a privateer race. And I agree Starling and Moranz should be in it this year.

I understand what you're saying and you crushed it last year.....but the rules of this event are you accumulate points by finishing 5th or worse in the LCQ.  Those guys made too many mains to gain those points.

If you're arguing they should be wildcards, I can't disagree with that, but those are picked for a variety of reasons like Simonson getting his haircut by Steve etc.

It's probably why they are calling it the LCQ Challenge, not the Privateer Challenge.

It’s Steve’s race so he could do whatever as he’s raising the money and making it possible.  I would love for everyone that is technically a privateer to be eligible but there are only 22 spots.

Coming from a guy who had to race Chiz last year I was Pro-Chiz being able to race because he was a privateer. Now do I think he should have been handicapped more yes but I didn’t think he needed to be excluded from the race for being a great rider on a privateer program.

Im still all for anyone privateer being able to race, but make it where it’s very very hard for the top 20 privateers to win. If I can purchase every part on Savatgys bike I think he should be able to race. But put his bike on a triangle stand in the first turn and make him sprint down the start straight so a top 10 would be a good ride by him. That would be entertaining I think.

Clason and Starling are definitely privateers but they didn’t want any part of the race I think until the purse got big last year, which is why I think Steve doesn’t let them in now.

I’m hurt along with ARAY so I think it gets tough to fill the gate with guys that can make all the rounds and accumulate LCQ points. I would rather see the top 20 450 privateers in there at a much greater handicap than Chiz last year versus finding some 250 guys to fill the spots.

No Offense to the 250 guys but points are accumulated through 450 LCQs.

Clason won it when it was just LCQ points based before.

Yes and he’s in most mains now
