Those are super cool. I remember making my own in something like 1999?? Not as nice tho
I just went and bought some car grill mesh, white paint and some liquid nails. I’ll post a pic when I’m done🤞
Are they using plastic or aluminum mesh?
Those Honda front plates were the coolest.
Just used jigsaw to cut out the background and tin snips for the mesh. Dunno if I like it or not yet
Had Moto Envy do mine. Came out awesome:
Contact at moto envy ?
Nice job on the # plate, very cool.
Not perfect but this was my first try for my 2001 kx
They definitely look sick and bring back a whole lot of nostalgia. Looking at the new bikes vs old bikes though the older bikes had the plates block the radiators so it actually prob had a performance gain but the new bikes front plates are nowhere near the radiators. The gas gas has the bottom sides of the plate completely removed. Its pretty cool to see how they engineered the problem away over the years.
On the new bikes a vented back of the front fender though definitely would have an impact. Im surprised we dont see more of those in mx.
Pit Row
This is how we did ours years ago and a Hot Glue gun helps on the back. Looks great especially for first one.
These are awesome.
Kudos to all the guys in this thread that did their own. You guys did a great job.
Check us out on Instagram! @cambrmx quick turnaround time, and very good on price!
Not only do vented plates look cool, they were good enough for a pair of GOATS
Kdub with the vented plate and No Fear gear!! What an setup!!
With modern liquid cooled four strokes a vented plate is just a silly fashion accessory.
With that said, they are so cool, and I think I need one.
Why does Kenny run one ? Less wind resistance and cooler fuel ? Seems like they'd hold a lot more mud than a smooth one coated with SC1, I guess just don't get roosted and it won't be a problem
.
These are the last two I did myself. Really happy with the way they came out. Want to try and start doing some more, just need to get a good portfolio put together
I contacted Chris Rucker through Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/moto_envy/
In fairness, mine is a two stroke
