My Alessi crash photo in the new Racer X

Edited Date/Time 1/27/2012 2:52pm

If you haven't seen the video of this crash, check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSr4tVYgwBk

My goal after I began with my photography a few years ago was to shoot a national on track. After some complications, thanks to Davey Coombs I finally obtained credentials and shot my first race inside the fences at Unadilla. My next goal that seamed unfeasible at the time was to get my work published in Racer X, and it finally happened. I'm so excited, this is practically a dream come true for me!

It's the December 09 issue, thanks for checking it out!

Congrats! When I saw that pic in the new issue, I instantly thought of you running off the track while watching online Smile . I thought you had a photo published in RX before though no?

I find it amazing how that almost every time a pro crashes, he hangs on to the bars no matter what. Even if his body says there is no way you're gonna make this, he doesn't let go of those bars. Is it safer to just stay hanging on like that?

p.s Awesome shot, congrats!

Adam shot the lights out at both Unadilla and Steel City; look for more in some upcoming issues. And he earned a full-time vest for 2010... Although I almost had a heart attack when I saw him almost get drilled when he made this photo -- Adam's still a minor, you know.

Shoot and sprint. Shoot and sprint!

Nope, Adam's dad (me) is his biggest supporter, sponsor and fan! Because he was a minor I was also given Press Credentials, "to keep an eye on him". Despite that sort of access being a dream, I choose to mostly watch Adam from behind the fence. He was always easy to spot; I just needed to look for the person in the tan vest running (I should say fast limping, since he tore his ACL riding this year) from one spot to the next.

Adam's skill's as a photographer make me extremely proud, However, as his dad what makes me the happiest is his level of maturity and the way he humbly handles himself with both his skills and the opportunity those skill's have provided him.

LOL, I relate, I was 16 when I convinced my parents that a YZ125D was a trail bike I could use to get to and from the farm fields. That same year, I forged a consent form and raced for the first time. This BTW ended 5 corners later with a concussion.
(Darn Premier helmet).

I want to thank everyone on this forum that encouraged Adam and Davey for giving the kid a shot.
