Got myself a new restoration project... I grew up watching US SX in that era. I turned 13 in 1990... That's a 1990 CR250, the bike JMB rode his first full season here with the number 22. Caught it on OfferUp and had to get it. Got it for $2k (listed @ $2.5k). Kinda high but it came with an extra silencer, 2 old school Renthal bar pads and new sprockets which makes up for it... Since I have some free time these days, that will keep me busy for several weeks.

Kinda high? I'd be all over it for that price.

That’s good condition compared to the beaters on the east coast. I spy PC foot pegs… bonus pipe & silencer, they can be very hard to find. Have to man up & ride with stock forks😂

Stock or American Honda inspired. Might have to put #22 with the N-Style 8in racing number font…

You’ve mentioned how these guys selling you bikes never know who you are… was that the case this time as well?

But did they recognize you when you picked it up?

Oh man, I love them old Honda's. 88' - 92' generation were already great bikes , and then they hit gold with the 93'!  Good luck with the build David , and get a build thread going.

I still have a 1989 CR 250. Have fun with it! Had massive head shake on that bike with no steering damper.

Sidenote: Remember there is zero fraud protection using Zelle. I know someone who lost $3000 using it. The big banks don't care if you get cheated using an app they promote.

You’ve got that CEET with that Kevlar…. that’s worth 2k right there.

I asked the guy to drop it off because I don't own a truck anymore. He came in my garage, saw trophies, framed jerseys, ads posters but had no idea who I was...

Right on DV! That was a great year Honda. I loved mine. We finished the '89 season in district 6 Pennsylvania on a '90 model. I think I was able to get mine in the fall of '89 and the 1990 season was awesome on that machine. I had local NJ legend Jim Kapitan do my suspension.  What a big improvement over the '88 and '89 models. I found this old pic of mine at Sleepy Hollow Mx Park in Fredricksburg Pa  summer of 1990 IMG 5576
