That is correct, it is Baggett's. Things can't be so bad for ol Blake if he can sit on a $5 million property for over a year.

It's because it's not worth $5 million or it wouldn't still be on the market.

Thanks for totally missing the point.

I didn't miss the point.  You were saying he must be doing fine to not have to move the property.  I agree with that since he is working for his dad's company in CA and doing well it appears.  I was also sharing a point that it wouldn't be on the market for a year if it was priced right.

I'm obviously not a fan of Cali, but even id choose 400 acres lol.. if it was apples to apples, I'd pick the Carolinas for sure.

In 10 years Castillo ranch will be worth 15 million. The property in South Carolina will be worth the same.

It's obviously not priced right if it's just for the land. He could be just waiting for a team to buy it like Star did with the Farm.

The fact that he has it priced like he is not desperate to sell it only emphasizes my point. If he was in the same boat as a lot of retired athletes, he would have it for sale at fire sale rates.

There’s a lot more to California than the two shit hole areas that attract all the tourists and homeless. When people from California vacation in California, they don’t go to LA or San Diego.

Obviously, I'm not so dense as to think the whole state is in a state of squalor. It is just the political climate of the state that would drive me nuts. To tell you the truth it bums me out because there are a few places I've visited that really talked to me and California was one of them. I visited San Fran in 2001 and it was a beautiful city, and the San Fran of 2001 is probably my favorite city I've ever visited.

Those that feel insulted by ones opinion of a state are the dense folk. Can't have an opinion that doesn't align with theirs lol. You nailed it tho. Physically the place is killer. Castillo even has dirt that made me drool back in the day.

Believe it or not, myself or no one I know, sits around thinking about what the state laws are or wtf Newsome is up to. We just live our normal lives and love living here. You can say whatever you want, it makes no difference, we'll still be here. Yeah, there may be some stupid rules, but it's not such a big deal as you try to make it out to be... we're riding all year around and hitting the beach while you're shoveling the snow out of your driveway. No one is trying to force you to move here, not sure why the huge hard on you have for hating where we live?  Stay where you are, please.....

I believe this 100%

the reality is,  I felt the same way until work got me out of California.  It was only then I realized what everyone outside of California meant.  When you live inside the bubble, you accept it.

I never, ever thought I would leave.  Now, it would have to be some drastic to make me go back to live.

Castillo ranch is Moto heaven.  It’s one of the coolest places ever,  I would certainly pick that property if I didn’t have to go to work to pay for it.

as far as taxes on it,  it’s considered agricultural so taxes are far, far less then any of you are predicting.  It’s actually shockingly low.

You are right.  It’s definitely not the place for me.   But to realize that , I had to leave.  I once was a California believer.  But after leaving I realized my rights were being taken away and the cost of living is almost criminal.

You can have it.  Can’t even buy a damn gas powered lawnmower anymore.  Slowly,  you are being transformed. Law by law…

I was born in santa maria, grew up in ventura, went to college in los angeles. I left the state for work reasons at age 27 but I have wanted to return since the day I left.

I live in texas and it is meh. It is pretty awful here weather wise for 10 months a year and if you have kids that are daughters, well they're not given the same rights as men.

As for living in california, I will be moving back this year and it will make my life considerably better. And as for the "communism" and "taxation" argument, the houston chronicle actually debunked this: https://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/article/texans-pay-more-taxes-than-californians-17400644.php

Those of you that are saying you you stay in California because you're just not paying attention to what the government is doing and everything is pretty and you can ride your motorcycle and a bunch of places... that's pretty much why you are losing population year over year. The other people that are paying attention are getting out of Dodge as fast as they can. I'm about to go by my $2.75 gasoline and fire up my gas powered mower. You can be jealous

I was born and raised out there and lived there for 37 years. left 19 years ago and visited last week. Could not pay me enough to live in that place again. I have plenty of friends and everyone of them is working on a plan to be gone in 5 years. And When the state come in to take Castillo Ranch for low income housing I will laugh.

I've lived on the border of Cali and I'll say NC all damned day long even with the shitty winter weather and smaller riding areas. If California is so great, then why are more people exiting that state than moving in? The reasons are not the awesome landscapes and great weather. It's your shitty liberal politics that tax everyone to death who cannot afford to stay in that state any longer.

As I said in another thread.  I moved here 6 years ago from Louisiana and have no plans to leave. None of things that people mention that “suck in California” affect me at all. I make the same money and live exactly the same way I did in La. albeit a smaller home. Will be empty nesters in a couple years so don’t need much.  Govt has taken nothing from me and after all said and done most things from the move are a wash monetarily. Sure can’t buy a gas mower, so friggin what,  barely have to mow here at all compared to having to mow 1 or 2 times a week in La.  It’s all in what you want and what you want to spend your time doing, me I 1000% prefer the options and weather here. Keep on, keepin on…

Brocster,

We did the flip - Cali / Louisiana.  I met you at Area 51. I don’t know where you live in Cali  but I know for sure your gas prices, car registration, housing, gas and electric bills and groceries are way more.

You don’t Mow because of the drought / water conservation laws and water prices and everything is dead. ha!  Just kidding. (Kind of)

saying you can’t buy a gas mower isn’t a big deal but it’s all small engines..  you’ll soon be fighting to buy combustible engine motorcycles.

I honestly found the pace of living and the wholesome-ness of people is a bit better back here.

Hope you are well! Honestly, I’m  stoked it’s working out for you. I remember you leaving!  The weather can’t be beat. No arguing there. California is lucky to have you.

The only ones who say they would rather live somewhere else is because they can't afford it or live where they never leave their house for an address to even matter.

Now before you say Ben Shapiro went to Florida....dude has a 24/7 security detail in a guarded gated compound....Just like CA.  Tax move. He doesn't know where his illegal gardeners buy their mowers, gas or electric.  Guy can hawk sh!tty products from anwhere.

Rogan....same exact thing.  Dude would be crying for his mommy if you dropped him alone and naked in the Angeles Nat Forest or Sierras.  Dude is a try hard at being some tough burly dude.

For him, Same thing.  Tax move.  Same reason all the Dot coms moved to Nevada.  Business decision.

California had a loss of 100K people in 2022, which is a loss of 0.025%, which is nothing. So that stat is just some dumb shit regurgitated from newsmax or something.

And btw, a Texas newspaper already proved Texans pay more in taxes (https://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/article/texans-pay-more-taxes-than-californians-17400644.php), so you’re 0-2 with stats. So maybe complain about Texas’ higher taxes before complaining about California’s… but you’re probably just saying stuff you heard.

Huge L’s bro.

They didn’t keep their other NC home very long either. This one was on big a lake too I believe, which I would prefer over the compound

California is so diverse.  I have a hard time when people say the whole state is one way or another, yada, yada.  I mean there are whole chunks of the state that hardly anyone lives in.  Other huge chunks that are as conservative as anywhere in the country.  Huge chunks that are nothing but mountains, others agriculture, and others beaches.

Some of it cost a fortune and other areas that really aren't that bad.  As far as freedom goes.  California really doesn't restrict much that impacts your everyday life.  Hell you have more freedom when it comes to some things over more conservative states.

There is always give and take, no matter where you live.  Castillo ranch would be paradise if you could afford it.

Pretty easy to enjoy outdoor stuff in Ca.

All the other stuff about California is quickly becoming more of a national issue rather than just one shit hole state issue.

One thing you don’t have in California are it’s  residents worrying about politics, taxes, living costs and gas prices in other states!  I have no idea who the Governor of Ohio, Michigan or Tennessee are and don’t lose sleep over it.  I’ve also never picked a location to live based on what kind of mower I can buy or what color gas can I can i need to use.  It’s not burying my head in the sand but instead accepting that things change.  I don't bitch about not be able to find a phone booth anywhere or not have a little shack in the mall parking lot so I can get my film developed!

I bet you couldn’t tell the difference in my lawn if it was mowed with an electric or ICE lawnmower anyway.

Cali haters really don't know how epic this place is and can be if ya play your cards right. Cali-quitters can all go suck some humidity or ice roads somewhere else and die waiting for your real estate to appreciate to give to your kids who wish you never left.
