Smith has run it in on Deegan a few times this year rather aggressively for being teammates. I think Deegan cooked the turn after the whoops and meant to block him but not like that. Then scoots over (carves over) to the other side of the track just to have Smith run over right up beside him with attitude, then cat and mouse, then takes himself out on Deegans back wheel, who was in the race line mind you, in a spot not a lot of passes were made. Seemed kind of like a heated moment but a racing moment. Shut up and move on
Careers are short. Deegan’s not waiting around to inherit positions. Frankly if he gets a “talking to” from Star he is on the wrong team.

Crap like this and the whole LL deal is why I don't like this family. I hope he tries something like this on Phil one day and filthy puts him in another state. Jordan needs to tee this douche up at the practice track this week.

Deegan looked like he was in the wrong in this incident but Smith needs to be smarter when this kind of stuff happens. Everyone seen it coming but him. He should have checked up and passed Deegan in the whoops on the next lap.

No shit. This is low speed ticky tac gamesmanship cornering stuff over some obvious issues that are going on between the two. People act like he shoved a stick in his spokes before a takeoff.
The press conference kind of reiterated there’s no love lost between the two. It’s not a big deal. It’s not the reason Smith missed the main. He’s shown plenty of times he can’t keep it on two wheels and could have easily been patient during the heat and came back and qualified and even more so during the lcq.
Deegan will have the same thing done to him eventually. It’s how racing goes. It’s fun to watch.

I have been a huge Deegan fan. But man that laugh he developed the last few weeks. Combined with the backwards hat on top of his hair. He has really been giving me some tool bag vibes. I hope he grows up fast. He’s a boy in a mans world right now.

I’ve personally seen Jordan Smith pouting like a little B at Pala over some starting gate stuff. I feel Smith thinks he’s better then he is and cannot stand the new kid showing him up. That’s leading to pouting and bad decisions.
On the particular incident between Deegan and Smith, Smith was clearly faster and racing forward. Deegan didn't have the speed in the heat. Everybody saw it, some people just don't want to admit it. I'm looking forward to the next east coast round, tell ya that much. Bummed we have to wait a few weeks.
Yes, it was 100% uncalled for but why did Smith not back off? As a vet you would think he is smart enough to back off and go around him another time. Clearly is was a sketchy situation and smith was the last one to make a move and he is the one who paid.

I bet Star could care less. Deegan is the future. Smith has proved once again he can’t stay off the dirt. One of them will have a lucrative factory ride next year, one of them has run out of chances.

Yes he was faster. But why did he cut over so hard into 238 right after first contact? Why did he look over and brake check 238 after the next turn? He was not racing forward. He was trying to show 238 who’s the boss and it had the opposite effect. A 15 and not making the main are not veteran rider qualities.
