Yes.
NHRA was interviewing Malcolm Stewart this weekend.
Wow, another thread bitching about the broadcast. There's something you don't see every day.
I can't think of any sports broadcast that doesn't devote some amount of time to cross-promotion. SuperMotocross and Indycar are both NBC properties.

Jeff Ward, RC and Pastrana... Lol!
Seriously..... I just enjoy being able to watch it Live and not having to wait 2 weeks or pay for some expensive ass cable package just to be able to see the racing.
Maybe I'm just easy to please but it's the best it's ever been as far as I'm concerned.
I also get a kick out of the dudes who have time to nit-pick every aspect of Race Day Live too.....do you really have nothing better to do on your Saturday than watch 7-8 hours of Supercross on TV? I prefer to ride and race my dirt bikes on Saturdays but maybe that's just me.....
Preach Brother, Preach!!!!
None of these mofos ever had to wait up on Saturday night to watch Motoworld at 2:30 in the morning to get week old highlights and it shows.
Between live race coverage, RDL, the myriad of pre and post race YouTube shows and podcasts all week we have more content than we can ever hope to consume.
Before Motoworld we had to wait for CycleNews to show up in the mailbox a week later to figure out what happened.
Snowflakes and complainers abound.
Astounding.
Just because things used to be worse, doesn't mean they can't be better.
Absolutely.
But I think the idea behind the Interviews of folks from other sports is to make it better and grow the audience. That is the decision that the folks who do this shit for a living have made so I guess I'll defer to them.
Serious question, do you watch other sports at all? Cross promotion and interviewing/spotlighting "famous" people in attendance is pretty common.
It's pretty rare that I watch an NFL game, and they give me an interview with a baseball player.
But, Supercross has a lot more downtime between races than the NFL has.
So are you guys happy not seeing fast laps on race day live? Missing part of a 10 minute session because they'd rather interview someone than show the bikes on track? Not getting to watch anyone else finish the race other than 1st place? Watching the starts from space? We have missed the start of a fucking race this year. Are you gatekeeping complaining about the broadcast because back in your day? Are you happy that we have adverts in the middle of outdoor motos? We are going to complain about the unprofessional stuff especially now all the other motorsports have started and are showing us how it's done. Yes we are going to complain about the TV broadcast here in the biggest place on the internet to talk about dirt bike racing.
Well to be fair its only two 3 hour shows not 7 or 8 and you do know that you don’t have to be in your living room or even at home to watch eh? Often times I’ll mess around in the garage tinkering with my bike while watching/listening to race day going over things from my ride day on Friday or in preparation for a Sunday, Monday or Tuesday ride. A couple of times I’ve watched at the beach, with the wife, in the van open to the ocean on a beautiful Saturday. Not all people are posted up on the couch whilst you are keeping the sport alive.
The way of the world is to improve, to make today better than yesterday is it not?
Actually I don't know what's worse....the broadcast or the bitching about the broadcast...
Didn't interview him, but the Indycar broadcast mentioned that Chase Sexton was in attendance last weekend.
You guys seriously need sone original material. You've been bitching about the same things for 20+ years.
The broadcast
if it was better there would be less bitching
Nah....people have been bitching about it for decades....they bitched about Art Eckman but now Art and David are the what everyone wants...It doesn't matter how good it ever gets as there will always be somebody to bitch about it...
Pit Row
This 100%. Every sport highlights or interviews famous people and sports stars in attendance. It builds hype, gives credibility, cross promotes, and is good for sponsorship.
All of that may be true, I just don't see how me being a whiny bitch will help the situation.
and atleast 2 people that believe they are above it all but care to comment about bitchers bitching…
So my observation that people have been bitching about the broadcast since SX/MX has been on TV and will always bitch regardless isn’t a true statement? And exactly how does correlate to me believing I’m above it? Because I don’t complain about it every fucking day?
Because you open the thread and talk down to people in every fucking one. That’s why!
Yeah whatever…and how have I talked down to people? Saying that people have been complaining about the broadcast for decades and they will continue to regardless of any changes is talking down? WTF man you have issues…
Zero issues here my man. Catch you in the next broadcast thread! peace
SX and MX is on just about every weekend that there's car racing, so attending one is really only happening if they're injured (like Mookie and NHRA above).
With that said, the 12 hours of Sebring is this Saturday in Florida, not too far from where a lot of the moto guys are based.
So my points are valid but I'm a whiny bitch for making them? Why are we not allowed to complain about stuff on the internet. If you never voice your complaints nothing will ever get changed
thats because we had to tiptoe around everything we said when you ran the place... just like the "ranking system" if we started upvotes and down votes, huh?
and for what its worth,
if anyone besides someone who used to run the place said " so and so are just bitching"
would of been a instant ban
Anyone defending the broadcast or saying “stop bitching” YOU are part of the problem. Our broadcast is so bad that it turns outsiders away. Why would you want to watch this shit if you don’t do it yourself? Our play by play can’t get riders names right, the analyst speaks like he has a 3rd grade education….oh wait, the shreaking pit reporter will tell you some totally irrelevant shit, and a few times a night we might try to suck some “celebrity” or “athlete” off who came to watch. We miss fast laps, we miss battles, the timing list on the side is always wrong, and none of it ever gets acknowledged by anyone involved cuz “it’s better than motoworld “
FUCK motoworld….and yes I’m going riding today myself, then I will come back and watch our awful product only because I’m a die hard.
