Do you run an auto clutch on your 4t

Have had issues on my 350 burning up the clutch in some off road races last year, prepping the bike for the season and it’s something I’ve thought of doing many times, buying an auto clutch. But it’s be nice to hear from some faster guys who race.

Been debating a rekluse for my 501 but haven’t really needed one for the riding I’m currently doing.

I do on one of my 450’s that I use for enduro type riding.  I still use the lever just like a standard clutch,  the auto just saves me from stalling in the tighter/ slow stuff.  When I was racing a 350 XC I used an auto clutch to avoid flame outs.  I’ve been very happy with any Rekluse product over the last 10 years and their customer service is very good as well.

I'd run one if they were cheaper, my stock Yamaha clutch is going on 100 hours without issue though so I'm pretty happy with it.

I just raced my first ever GNCC (Wild Boar, FL) on my Husky FC450 and had tons of issues.  I lost my clutch about 4 times during the race and would then stall several times because of no clutch.  I think a lot of it was just me being nervous and slow and using the clutch too much, but it got me wondering about a Rekluse.

What is the one you get in order to have auto-clutch?  I really know nothing about them and it's a little confusing trying to research.  Thanks!

What type of riding do you do?

Well...I've raced MX for 35 years LOL.  This year I'm trying to do other things like GNCC, Sprint Enduro, Cross Country GPs, maybe a few hare scrambles.

The Rekluse Radius CX is the one I recommend.

I've had several in the past, but they have priced them out of my reach. I just can't justify the crazy prices for that stuff.

An auto clutch is almost mandatory on a 450 for woods racing. A 450 mx based engine is a lot of power for that kind of riding. Wild Boar looks like the most 450 friendly hare scramble you will find on the east coast due to the sand. You don't have a 250 or 350 you can ride do you?

I’ve gone both ways on my 450’s for off road racing I do (hare and hounds, hare scrambles, sprint enduros and GP’s).  I don’t see any draw back to the rekluse (besides the price)…the clutch works just like normal (people would ride my bike and not even know it’s there), and it eliminated stalls, and really let’s you stretch out all that 450 torque and horsepower by running a gear-or two-high when thinks get slippery or techy…I’m not currently running one on my 2021YZ450FX though.

For off-road racing I use the REKLUSE Moto no. I still use the clutch as always but it has saved me countless times when I get tired.

Been racing the GNCC series for years on a 4 stroke. Never needed an auto clutch on my 250F or my 450
