Is this still viable as a Motocross track? Anyone have insider knowledge?

I really hope it's maintained as a track and not redeveloped as something else.
Man, I have some great memories there on my KTM 250SX!
As far as I know it is still for sale. There is a caretaker living at the property I believe.
I would imagine it would still be viable with the city to remain a motocross track as it is pretty far from homes./businesses.
Part of what killed it is you had to drive by Glen Helen and Comp Edge (ironically same owner as Sunrise/Adelanto) to get to Sunrise/Adelanto Raceway. If I had a few hundred thousand burning a whole in my pocket I would love to get it. There at the end I would go ride there and there would only be 10-20 riders on a sat or sun.
Great memories at Racetown!
I don’t see anything else that could be profitable there other than a trailer park..
" there would only be 10-20 riders on a sat or sun."
I guess that was part of the problem.

DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
That's a pretty large facility for that area. I assume it'll be purchased, rezoned, and have town houses built on it
You mean Racetown 395? Just aging my self here.
Did they keep that huge step up in the back? Remember trying to send it every lap during the WORCS race there.
By the way, it's been listed for sale since early 2022, they just keep dropping the price. Original price was: 989,000.
I have fond memories of making trips down south to ride there, and the main track dirt was amazing when it was prepped right.
I would be worried though as a buyer because it seems like the Adelanto urban sprawl keeps getting closer and closer, and it's almost a guarantee that neighbors will start to complain about noise and dust if it got back to full operations and riders with the 3 tracks.
Flip side is if you buy it and housing encroaches, you have some leverage for profit.
That was one of my favorite tracks to ride in the late 80's and early 90's. Full gates of 125, 250, and 500 pros during the Goldenstate and Trans-Cal Series. Us kids would pile in a van, and go invade town. Good times.
Here’s the current satellite image avail on my iPad…
There’s still a fair amt of room between the track and the “neighborhoods”.

Sunrise was always one of my favorite tracks, great dirt! My avatar is from an SRA GP there in the summer of 92..
If it reopens I’ll make the trip!
So that is the same place as Racetown 395? Been about 15 years since I was there, for a WORCS race like you.
I avoided doing that step up all through Friday practice and Unclassified Satruday morning, then pulled a decent start in 250A and felt I had to do it for my own safety....Brad Goolsby was behind me and the last thing I wanted was that dude landing on me LOL.....fun jump once I worked up the balls to hit it.
I watched RJ go after the Dogger there in the pits after a Golden State race. Old school...
395 cycle park - racetown 395 - sunrise been there since the 70's
I loved that step up. I had to do it in 5th on my 125, because the dirt was soft enough that 6th wasn't cutting it. That's a big jump!!!!
Yes sir. Probably one of the biggest ones I've ever done. Certainly wouldn't find my Vet ass jumping something like that now!
Best Socal track by a mile. I used to drive up there on weekend offs (it was only open F/S/S back in the day) to have fun with a stock YZ250... Some of the most fun I had riding a dirt bike up there...
I haven't heard anyone call it Sunrise in many, many years. I grew up going to SRA races with my dad throughout the 90s, maybe you know each other? Ken Ketchum
Pit Row
Yup!
I did that race on a 450, but when I rode my 250 there, I remember slamming the turn before in third, clicking fourth off that little jump, and giving it everything I and the bike had. That and the Zaca station step up are the biggest jumps I’ve hit. Pretty fun.
Make an offer!
The DV12 Moto-Compound.
nice!
WTF Manny,you make an offer!!!
Manny, do it!!! We can call it “Common sense Raceway” and liberals need not apply!! 😂😂
Buying more Cali real-estate is about 100-150 miles too far west for my current plans. Besides, I like Sunrise, but I’d be more inclined to buy something with some elevation and an opportunity to get some snow now and then…which I’ve done…up the road a little way. I’ve currently got 4 California properties which…before long…is gonna be 4 too many.

I was thinking someone like DV owning it would be a good way to attract riders...& in a perfect world…students. DV & his approach to riding and racing is good for our sport. That’s where I was coming from.
But, what if I’m wrong?
So you're sayin' there's a chance?
I loved Sunrise. Random memories I have: the first time I saw Cinqmars was there and he was going so fast. RIP. I think Jason Dubin jumped and landed on a water truck that shouldn’t have been in the middle of the track. The dirt was always prime and well groomed lips on the big jumps. The 90s ruled.
Was always my favorite track in SoCal. Really good dirt.
But man the wind could be brutal. Like unrideable brutal.
Your dad might recognize my avatar.. we drove to that race in his gray Toyota, lol!
Tried to send a pm, didn’t work. We’ve known each other for a long time!
it was a pretty easy drive from Vegas and would go down about once a month… the vet track was fun!
Was I sitting between you two?
I didn't realize this was you. I thought you were on here under a different screen name
