Suzuki could afford more riders if they didn't have to pay out all those win bonuses.. Huh

As confirmed by DC up there, I heard that Austin Stroupe is now signed up to ride the Makita/Rockstar Suzuki 250F next year with Ryan Dungey. Christophe Pourcel will ride the Suzuki 450, which would be interesting given Dungey’s comments about CP377 in an interview I did on pulpmx.com.

Mike Lafferty to a Husaberg.

Husaberg Signs 8-Time National Enduro Champion Mike Lafferty
Husaberg North America, a division of KTM Motorsports, Inc. is honored to welcome distinguished, eight-time National Enduro Champion Mike Lafferty to the Husaberg Factory Race Team for the remainder of the 2009 and 2010 season.
Lafferty, with over 20 year’s race experience, is looking forward to a new challenge and racing aboard a new team. “I have thoroughly enjoyed the last 15 years of my professional race career and look forward to my new venture with Husaberg. I have enjoyed riding and learning the new bike. As Husaberg is a division of KTM, I have watched the bikes develop over the years and feel that the current bike is definitely capable of winning. I feel comfortable on the bike and look forward to a successful racing season.”
“We couldn’t have asked for a better rider to join the Husaberg Factory Team. Mike is an extremely talented rider welcomed on the track as much as he is off the track. He is great for our sport and will be a great asset to the Husaberg brand. We look forward to winning a championship with Mike,” commented Husaberg Team Manager Antti Kallonen.
Lafferty’s premier race on the Husaberg will take place October 11, 2009 in Wildwood, NJ during the Thunder at the Beach motocross race near Lafferty’s home town.

Langstons team is gonna be him and Hamblin! I sent him a message on Facebook a couple weeks ago. He said that they were still working with a couple manufactuers and would know more in a couple weeks. That should be being announced pretty soon I would think.

Pourcel always has excuses, I don't think he appreciates his team and fans.
He was bashing on his Pro Circuit bike this summer, is it me or is it not the best lites bike out there? He makes the team look bad...

Stroupe is an awesome rider with so much potential maybe riding for Decoster will see him get some titles. Pourcel isn't going to be too popular in that semi though ha ha !

Well, DeCoster managed Bailey and Johnson when they hated each other, and Stanton and Bayle as well. Dungey and Pourcel shouldn't be too much trouble if that team plays out.

It has been noted several times CP is staying another year on 250s with it appears PC. It sounds like the rumor of him heading to Suzuki is no longer.

How about Reed and C. Pourcel as team mates, and one of them does not even change teams?

With team going the route that they are going nowadays L&M, FC, JGR etc....it wouldn't be a stretch for any of them to be on different brands sine the factories don't control thees teams (maybe FC they still do) but teams get together the sponsors and contract mfg's to rider their bikes then the team that has the contract with a certain mfg will them seek out riders for the teams. If there was bad blood between KW and yamaha and L&M signed him for example Yamaha wouldn't pull their support or contract witht the teams because a certain rider is on the team that will be up to the team managers to decide.

Suzuki could greatly benefit from having a verten rider/tester/consistent top 10 guy like Ferry on the team to keep all the youngsters in line he still has what it takes to win and ride at the top of his game.

Ferry is yesterdays news. you don't waste a bike on a guy like Ferry these days. You are better off taking your chances on a young kid with a ltittle fire in his belly than a old timer just hanging around.

Apparently Honda Martin in the GP is looking to bring from the AMA a young rider capable of top 10 to race their MX1 bike. Looks like Honda took so long that they missed out on the main GP riders so looking at getting a talent from the US. They will have Balbi doing some rounds as well. They tried to get Rattray but he has another year with PC.

So who you think? Townley, Moss, Goerke, Hahn... Anyway lets hope its not the same story as the last few guys that came around. Can't remenber the name of that kid that came never qualified and went back a month or two later.

The last american guy to ride for team Honda Martin was Ryan Mills in 2007 (250F).

Was a total disaster.

I like Tim as much as anyone, but in a tight economy he's not a rider I put on a factory bike. As far as top 5...no. He's not there anymore. Maybe it's health issues or whatever, but he hasn't raced a season healthy in a long time. Rumor has it, MX and SX are hard on a body.

He can still race strong, but I don't see him racing a full season without injury and a title is not even under consideration.
Timmy was hurt pretty much all of last year.

What about Paul Carpenter, Bobby Kiniry? I mean those are some names I don't see up here yet. They were Cernics Kawi Riders last year what about coming up? I mean Paul was a consistent top 10 rider. Could have prolly been a top 5 rider this past outdoor series. Kiniry isn't a slouch either. Another top 10 rider...
