I remember saying to my mates when the 2 lap board came out that DP was 6 seconds behind Ivan and i didnt think he would catch him. He was obviously much faster in the end caught Ivan in a lap and a half. Ivan just happened to get in the way of a runaway freight train, shit happens when you are riding for your country it seems, especially to someone who is very patriotic, and those Italians are up there with the most patriotic nations, especially when it comes to motor sports.
I don't think anybody thought David would catch him but the crowd were very much behind him and i think Ivan knew there was nothing he could do about David passing him. David passed him by the pits which was about 2 or 3 corners from the end...clean pass aswell i might add haha.

Rubbing is racing. Look at how Reed and Stewart raced at Jacksonville and Vegas. Ivan is just trying to give David a bad reputation because he's pissed at how much faster David is compared to him.

I like how you said winning the MXdN. Everybody knows you won. Its time to stop gloating about it now because i only remember a very small handful of people on here that believed the USA would win.

David as you call him is a dirty rider. Period. He's done it dozens of times and it finally bit him in the ass. Just like Tony moves over on riders off the start. He's done that dozens of times also. Bit him in the ass also. Karma is a real bitch. Hey, BTW we won.

I like how you said nothing in this thread that makes any sense. Go back to mxtrax and keep running your riders out of town.

How many times have you seen Philippaerts ride and take riders out ? You say it "bit David" ??? Clearly it looks like " it bit Ivan ". As for Cairoli cutting across people....that shit happens when your trying to get the holeshot. He decided to give Philippaerts the better gate pick so getting to that first turn in a good position was going to require cutting across people. I don't know how if Cairoli went down because he hit someone's front wheel or wether someone cut across his front wheel, but whatever happened, it was sure unfortunate for Italy and very fortunate for the Americans.

Oh and Tedesco can't even call him by his name. I don't know how it's perceived in America but over here it's a bit rude and disrespectful to say that.

Even Chad and James don't go that low and we all know they hate eachother.

Yeah Team GB didn't win. I didn't go to Italy to watch them win either because i knew they wouldn't. What point are you trying to make ?...that American rider's are better than the British rider's ?

You don't hear James calling Chad some Australian dude. You don't hear Chad saying some American dude. You don't hear Cairoli calling Nagl some German dude. Just be a good boy and admit that calling Philippaerts some Italian dude was very rude after he had just won the des nation with team USA.

I hope IT was rude and disrespectful. (Not like he used dago) I'm tired of this can't we all get along bullsh!t. If you Brittish dudes want to be all nicey nice, save it for your tea and crumpets, pinkies up. After all why did most Americans leave Europe in the first place, it sucked. How many of your countries have to build a fence to keep people out?

Yup, he was a typical ignorant American twat. Is that what you wanted to hear? Now go back to not expecting anything from your British riders because you think they're too shitty to do well in big races. Real classy.

America win
American's are back to their normal selves

It's lucky that you did win because i'm not sure how any of you fellas could of survived by handing the trophy over to France, Italy or Belgium.

Joe I understand your position. Put yourself in Ivans shoes, A guy just hit you and hit you hard, it may have been on purpose or not. The last thing your going to do is be respectful of that person. Your not going to call him an a-hole, but your not gong to be respectful. He almost cost you a good finish so why would you be all full of praise and love for the guy.

I also don't think its that disrespectful to say Italian dude. Especially when he could have said much worse.

Most pro's would have got up and went after him to return the favor, rubbing is racing and so are paybacks. An your upset because he called him Italian?

Oh and we have lost, not a lot but we have lost. We just try to come back better the next year and it seems to work well.

If by chance we do lose it what happens? We cowboy up and get it right back. By the way it's not as hard to lose it to Belgium, they gave us are secret weapon RD. Moto version of Werner Von Braun.

Somehow calling DP "some Italian dude" validates Joes image that all Americans are ignorant. No point in arguing with him.

DP could have run over his puppy and punched Ivans mom in the face. And all you would hear is, "huh, what, did he just call him some italian dude? That's so disrespectful and ignorant and describes the thought process of every American in the world"

What is this world coming too... you guys are a bunch of whiners... thats the only thing you have to say, is that it was "rude" of IT to say some eye-talian dude. Just because our so called president goes around the world apologizing for america that doesnt mean thats how the whole country feels. Last time I checked that DP guy is italian, ergo he is "some italian dude!!" Maybe you are just bitter about the fact that other than Everts almost no GP riders are household names here in the good ole US of A? Did you ever give it some though that he didnt know who tried to take him out, which is clearly evident in the photo, but that it was one of the italian riders... so he said some italian dude... how is that rude....grow a back bone and dont be such a meely mouth, smarmy euro trash tool box.

So why dont you just STFU, have some bangers and mash, kidney pie, fish and chips or whatever the else you eat over there and wash it down with a guiness you lyme bastard.....get over it!!!!!

of ALL the things for anyone to single out and go on and on and on about.....IT referring to someone as an "Italian dude" rather than singling the Italian dude out by name for making a take out move.

I'm not upset, just a bit disappointed that Ivan can't call someone by their name after he just got beat by him. By saying " some Italian dude " i think Ivan is trying to imply that he doesn't even know Philippaerts' name. If he would of said " David Philippaerts tried taking me out " then it's not as bad to me. It's jus tme though and my Dad brought me up to be respectful enough to call people by their names.

If DP wasn't trying to advantage of an opportunity to put Tedesco to the back, he should be left off the Italian team next year unless sent to Jeff Stanton for a few lessons.

Philippaerts knew it was over for Italy as a team when he was making his way past Tedesco. I think he just had the overall winner in the open class in his mind.
