How will he do?

I'm guessing his pace will be somewhere between Alessi & Short.

JG / CR

RD IMO.

Trust me, he's faster than Alessi or Short.
RD has has two professional races on a 450. He podiumed his first 450 SX in 2008 and won the overall at the MXDN yesterday. I think that basically says he's pretty freakin' fast.

Dungey appears to have a good work ethic and good focus. He'll probably step up to meet his competition at whatever level they are at. Question is , will Stewart ever race the outdoors again?

Pardon me, newb here.
I'm still grinnin' about Dungey.
From B rider to pros, to 250sx and 250mx c'ships,
to team leader in his first 450 race,
riding the #1 Suzook in his first trip to Europe,in his first MXdN,
finishing a respesctable 3rd behind the world champ, and AMA champ
in his first moto,
to winning his second moto and the whole shoot'n match.

It's Ryan Dungey, we already have 'RD' The Man Roger DeCoster. What's next , gonna call him the Hurricane? I was wondering what Roger was doing after I read the title sheeeeesh. Still, great job to Ryan.

Dungey's corner speed and momentum is some of the best in the sport... he can turn on a dime...

He will wax Short and Alessi... just more raw speed and technique...

He'll be up there with RV behind the other two... but prolly 4th and 5th with Grant & Davi...

For sure.

Seems really grounded, like none of this is getting to his head. Kind of wish he would have taken a swipe @ Jlaw in one of his interviews, he doesn't seem like the type though.

Realistically though, he's not the fastest 450 guy. Faster riders were on the sidelines that day. For SX I think JS, RV / JG, CR, RD.

The 450 class will be awesome next year if everyone is healthy.

In Supercross he should be top 5. Outdoors is harder to say. If everyone is healthy (and racing) he will have JS, CR, RV, MA, CP and JG. THAT is a stacked class. Id say if everyone stays healthy he will be around 5th.

Yeah,
I'd never say Ryan's the next Ricky or James, but he's accomplished a lot in a little time.
He seemed inconsistent his first year, but rode smart all this year, and fast enough.
He just seems like a good kid.

Josh Grant will be fighting for wins this year. Finishing 2nd and 3rd should be no problem for him.

Dungey will be in the hunt, but he's never been the guy that was outright faster than his comp. Assuming James rides outdoors, he's the outright fastest until proven otherwise. RV nipping at his heels may cause some havoc. Then Alessi and RD. If Reed is healthy and chooses to race, he'll battle with MA and RD. Grant might get a wheel in there.

Is CP moving to 450s? He'll be there with in the battle for 3rd fastest.

Langston is supposed to be back. Don't underestimate his speed.

Then there's a Davi and IT and Short. Each of those guys has potential. Hahn? And several others.

YES, the 450s are STACKED!

He should be right there with RV for 3rd.

Everybody should have learnt by now that when James and Chad are both in the series they check out from everyone, we get this such and such will give them a run every preseason, but it never happens week in week out for the course of the series.

Obviously there is the odd freak race where they both crash or something happens and it gives a different result, but week in week out they will be the top 2 on the box.

Sure it will happen one day......when they retire.

What part of the last 7 years makes you think Chad will be about 4th or 5th even...

Seriously...

Go through his stats... 1st, 2nd, 3rd... with one guy who beat him a couple of times not racing, i'd say he is looking good...

Agree with Crush if were talking inside. But outside he will only be 5th or so. Now that's assuming everyone is healthy and racing. Js, Rv, Ma, then Jg, Cr, Dun, Lang, It, Davi, and a bunch of others battling for 4th.

A healthy Reed getting off the line with everyone is guaranteed top 2... Inside or Out...

If you think he doesn't have the speed look at the lap times outdoors when everyone WAS there... He was just starting way back and was sick... Facts...

I wouldn't be surprised to see Dungey giving Reed and Stewie fits. And Ryan V is going to be right there also if last year was any indication. Looks like we will have some great racing in 2010. I can't wait till the nationals start. Throw in MA and the rest and it should be amazing.

prove it.

He didn't do it on the track when RV or even MA. That's why I think that.

Yes he's a great competitor, but I simply don't think he has the speed outdoors that JS and RV have. Or MA. It's that simple.

History also says he's going to struggle on the new bike. He struggles as much as any top rider I've ever seen getting comfortable on a bike. The beginning of every season is the same and the Kawi will make that even more of a challenge.

Stewart is obviously faster. RV got going @ the end of the last SX series (first year) & had some straight up wins. Grant, first year 450, often had faster lap times than Reed but was inconsistent - that should get better his second year. RD will be close with Reed - my guess. Reed's always counted out, his consistency keeps him in there though.
