My mom ate peanut butter sandwiches for lunch for 5 years and hustled her behind off so I could ride when I was young. Silver spoon retired vitards be like "yeah man just keep it chilllll, it's just a bike". If that cant be defended with lethal force idk what should be then.
I’m separating the riding from the theft, I think those are different things. I’ll put up with some kids riding around a lot easier than damn thieves stealing my bikes. I don’t know about you, but when I was young I’m sure I bugged my neighbors with my bikes once in a while, so when I see young people having fun riding bikes they got honestly, it doesn’t bother me. It looks like young people having fun. If I see someone riding around on stolen bikes, that’s a whole different story..

Every so often karma does bite these scumbags. Buddy of mine had multiple bikes stolen. He was able to find and identify a few of his bikes via social media videos (Wheelie Boy garbage). Short version….. time passes, one of the thieves ran a red light in Detroit on yet another stolen bike, got smoked by a car and lost both his legs. Justice served.
Munn is the best dealer, I've bought a few bikes and a ton of parts from them over the years, this sucks to have happened :-( I had 5 bikes stolen from my garage a few years ago, they ended up on the streets with gangs as could be guessed, got a couple of them back over time that were so trashed they were no good and it just pissed me off when I looked at them, gave them away to someone that I hoped would fix them again.
I 100% agree we as a country need to start doing something that deters this behavior, nothing happens to these crooks so they just keep on steeling :-( . I kinda like the chopping off the hand of crooks note in the thread above...
how hard (or easy?) is it to transport bikes across the border?
In Arizona and crossing the Mex/USA border numerous times a year. Mex agents at the border will require that you have registration and/or title to the two or four wheeled OHV in your possession. Coming back across to the USA side, not so much.

You’re making a lot of assumptions and you seem kinda angry/ triggered.. fair enough, I think you’re right about some of the city riders, but I’m not ready to give up on all of them based on stereotypes.
What I know for sure is that the process of buying and owning dirt bikes probably kept me from becoming a felon. It did the same thing for a bunch of kids in my neighborhood, there was a decision point a lot of us reached where dirt bikes kept us out of serious trouble while we watched the kids that made a different choice have a way worse outcome. So if you take the time and make the effort to understand all of my posts in this thread, you’ll see that I have zero respect for thieves, but I’ve got a lots of tolerance for honest riders, wherever they ride.
If a kid’s on a stolen bike, roast him with everything possible. Jail is too easy for repeat thieves IMO. But If he worked for the bike, and can’t get to a legal riding area, there might be hope for him.

Just go to the part of town where they ride wheelies through the streets and youll probably find most of them and many more.

Or you have proper insurance and bam... new bike day. I am not saying anyone should get away with stealing or the punishment shouldn't be much greater, because it should, but it blows my mind how many people own 15K dirt bikes, trailers etc and do not have insurance. It's no different than complaining about medical costs if you do not have heath coverage.
