I’m torn on this. On one hand I’m obviously happy for Carson and am excited to see how he does on the PC bike, but am also a Suzuki fan and curious how things ended with him and Bar-X.
Hopefully the kid will do much better on the PC Kawi and get his career back on track. Don't wanna see another amateur star flunk out because of team opportunities.
I totally understand the move. But I think it's only for 5 rds.. So what happens to him for MX? Does he have the possibility to stay longer depending on Forkner's recovery, or can he go back to Bar-X?
His history so far shows that this Carson, may be closer to another injury rehab on Forkners bike than success! I wish him the best but he's always hurt.

What makes you think his career is off the track? His results have been pretty consistent.
Forkner is not coming back in 4 months time.
High risk, high reward. Needs to perform and he just walked out of one of the better "satellite" teams.
He didn't even have a contract for the BarX ride... From what I know his dad has a big part in owning the team or something, so i'm sure he can jump right back onto a Suzuki if the Kawi deal is pulled from under his feet after SX.
ML said on darkside’s podcast that the spot was between Carson Mumford, Chris Blose, and Carson Brown. Pretty wild.
I mean back on track as far as top 5 finishes. Young stars tend to win races. He's nowhere near so far. Hopefully a shot with a legit bike can help.
He’s not a star. At Loretta’s he got beat by Jesse flock, Parker mashburn, hardy munoz his last years not really top talent. He’s not an amateur that was a clear favorite, his last 6 years at LL’s his overalls were 10-18-3-1-3-5-3-3-7-1-5-2. He was notoriously overpaid as an amateur and didn’t produce results
You may be thinking of the wrong guy. Mumford really struggled just to make main events in his first year, and finished 12th in his regional supercross series last year behind guys like Carson Brown and Robbie Wageman. Being a "star" is subjective but if you strip away that he's a socal guy with a lot of money behind him that rode for a dominant amateur team and has famous coaches and trainers and a camera crew and a merch logo and all that, you're left with his results which have never suggested a "star" in the making. It will be interesting to see if a PC bike can get him up into the top 10.
My guess is that if he does any better it will be because of the environment and being so amped to actually work with the team/Mitch, not due to the bike.
How many races did Mumford miss last year in sx and outdoors ?
Looks like he missed 2 in SX (same as Carson Brown and Wageman) and 5 in MX. Why do you ask?
He missed 2 crashed out of 1 to finish 22nd and crashed again in for 19th. He ran top 10 outdoors at a few. Just saying his window might be a bit higher then people give him credit for. But this will be his last shot on a good team at the age of 20.
Me too, but it's black with blue accents (huffy hx pro). I actually won 4 times on it to be exact, even won state finals on it, then I upgraded to a chase.
Pit Row
So what’s the excuse gonna be if he doesn’t perform on the pc bike?
Any word if BarX is filling Mumfords spot yet?
He ”lost” his earned factory Honda ride and had to ride a shitty bike for too long
