Real neutral.

He took the corner in 1st.

Click neutral on the step on.

Yeah your front end doesn’t drop that fast without hitting neutral.

Man I don’t know. In my limited knowledge it seems like second out of the corner and shifting third would be more plausible. I think the bike was wound to tight when the shift was attempted. The bike shifted out of second but didn’t go into third. I just don’t see first out of that corner and carrying that much speed. Makes since to be in second out of the turn, third gear shift would carry that entire section with out being on the limiter or needing a second shift.

It doesn’t really matter if Mookie was in 1st or 2nd out of the corner, accidentally getting true neutral or a false neutral is usually caused by the same thing, and unfortunately as in this case, the outcome remains the same.

He would have been going 1st to 2nd, not 2nd to 3rd. That corner was so soft and beat up it was hard to get onto the table during practice and I’m sure by the main event, and 2nd gear was needed to step off.

Very likely. Just depends on how they set up the gearbox.

Usually the factory bikes have a longer first gear. Sx is tighter than it looks sometimes and watching someone with insane corner speed makes it look not as tight as it is.

Im sure Mookie’s first gear is longer than mine and I use first gear more than you would think. I do a few things to make my first gear more usable because I have to use a stock tranny.

Oh, well I appreciate your services. Does Vital compensate you for your time? I feel like I owe you for being so invested. Thanks again it’s rare to find such a caring individual these days.

Is there anything in the rules to preclude a team from deleting neutral?  Seems like enough crashes from accidental neutrals to be worth thinking about.  Iirc a few riders in the early 1990s had no neutral.

Read the other thread- you’ll see that even if you delete ‘real’ neutral, you’ll never delete ‘false’ neutral.

"if it wasn't" ???

He would not have continued and finished 16th.

I don't know whether he would continue and finish 16th, but I do know he wouldn't be blaming the bike for 'false neutrals' in media interviews, even if that was the issue.
