I’m surprised no one mentioned the WTS with Bob Hannah, where Ping was speaking about Roczen and stated, “he’s basically a Nazi,” due to his physical appearance and German heritage. Listen, I know it was supposed to be a joke, and I’ve been a Ping fan for years… but saying shit like that is incredibly offensive and will deeply anger most anyone from Germany. Definitely crossed the line.

If you’re going to dive into media/reporting and you pull moves like this, you aren’t taking it serious enough. Ping can delete it or backpedal or put out some interviews with legends of the sport but he’s forever a media clown.

I have no idea where Ping got his information or how wrong or right it was, but I do commend him if he did truly publish what he thought, or his sources told him was correct. Like the Loretta's Claimgate story I'm sure we'll never know the real truth?
And if the Twitter Files have taught us anything it is that it is an ideal situation if one company or organization controls the news............hmmmmmm
It's tough to keep up but I thought Pulp was a sellout because of Claimgate, or did people lose interest on that and now Ping is persona non grata? It's tough to keep up. I need some kind of cheat sheet to keep everything straight.

If he wants to be a legitimate source for information, he should not be publishing what he "thought."
He's free to publish whatever he wants, obviously, but the fact remains once it's out there....it's out there.
Obviously there was some truth behind his information, based on the public meltdown of Roczens agent, but the whole thing was unprofessional from the start.
The part where shit stick stepped in it was saying KTM pulled their offer because he refused to take the test. That was not correct, he was not told that by anyone, he made an inference and he was wrong. If you like to be sold made up information then by all means smash that subscribe button. Most find that bottom feeding.

The long-form Whiskey Throttle interviews/conversations are great. I've given his other content a try and I'm not a fan, even his race previews/reviews.
There have been a few times he flat out misses well-known information, or even facts about the race itself. It's actually been a head-scratcher to me.

I respect him trying to break some news, but holy hell the delivery and aftermath was cringy to say the least.

It's funny about the Vital Villain revolving door. I'm completely ambivalent about the Kenny drug test. I don't understand why everyone needs to get worked up about every subject. My personal opinion is that I doubt Kenny will race WSX next year even though he has that as an option because the WADA testing is much stricter and I'm sure he has to push the limit due to all of the medication he has been on and a compromised immune system.

No but a phone call or text to confirm would have gone a long way for legitimacy…but Ping chose the Kooksey clickbait method…and threw in the KTM thing in hopes it would generate more clicks….journalism 101…check your sources.
I have no idea what they are testing for and I thought that USADA was no longer testing AMA. I thought they went internal. The only thing I know about WADA is it's hurt a bunch of AMA based racers but hardly any Euro based racers.

For all we know it could have went like this:

Kenny: Crickets............................
Ping has been around the industry and is connected enough that he didn't just blindly make the story up. For as bent as Astephen got over it he could have been the source. "I told them blankity blanks that we weren't taking any test." I have no idea how it went down so I'm going to leave my pitchfork in the shed. If Ping starts to become a sensationalist journalist, then I will take the body of work into account and make my decision on him.
