i didnt say i needed advice or get told how i could save my marrige lol,

thats why i said lets not make this about me...

if you want or are trying to be at the top level or anywhere close to it you have to be fully dived in the pool not just dipping your toes in.

you havecto live eat breath sleep it. you have to fully devote yourself to it, even when your a child....

some women just arent down with that.... and thats okay.

So are you referring to you "making it" or your kid?

Not to be a dick, but if you're old enough to be married and haven't "made it" yet, you're not gonna make it.

We all have to give up that dream at some point.  Life goes on.

I try not to crush my kids’ dreams on a monthly basis but I’d say history isn’t on your side. We’re talking about a handful of families with 2 kids making it to a level that even attempts to payback the entire families investment of time/money. Now you’re saying 3 kids have a shot. I can’t think of a sports family that has 3 pro level siblings. Maybe JJ Watt/TJ Watt/and whoever the other brother is. Maybe the Manning brothers?
I hear the Lawrences’ story and try to imagine watching your kid sleep on a pool table and not have enough food for everyone and still think it’s the best route for the family. Obviously it worked out for them, but how many hundreds of families destroy themselves trying to replicate their success?

LMAO, when I seen this thread. I am sure MX has been the cause of more divorces than not. Most women are too selfish to allow such things in there man's life and I am sure some of them with good reason.

I have been divorced for about 8 years and raised my son as a single father.  He kept racing and I think that kept me grounded through everything.  Long story short she liked alcohol better than her family.

I don't plan on getting married again but I learned a few things. One is if the girl doesn't have her own hobbies or interests move on. You will become her hobby and there will be issues if you go ride etc. or they tag along and ruin your time. How long are we staying? blah...blah... Basically if it's a constant battle over everything move on.

Now if finances are a concern or they have a hobby then you must compromise. It's only right.

Most of the single women close to my age are bitter or mad at men.  Funny thing is the majority of them had a great relationship or man and they decided to find themselves around 40 which lead to a divorce. They take half the money and now the man pays to see the kids every other weekend. I had to take a class when I got divorced and the stats were 50% of all marriages failed. It was 80% before the age of 28. The woman really has nothing to lose and the man has everything to lose. It's a gamble so make sure who you are picking the right one. If you didn't pick the right one get out ASAP.

Moto has kept me from getting into another serious relationship.(I’ve been divorced for 30 years) I spend almost all my free time riding and working on bikes. It would t be fair to get into a relationship, because there’s not enough time in the day to give enough of me to make someone happy.
This has become a saving grace for me, as I continue to see all my friends with their ups and downs in their life.
I am good with it… zero arguments about all things moto.

To be added for clarification...

The Langster raised and rode with a kid that went on to race Pro-MX and SX at the national level. He drove FOR DAYS to races...he built the bikes all damn night and THEN drove to those races...and did all the regular dad shit that we all do...on top of all that...and his kid is a good dude, too...even after all that Moto! Laughing

As one of The Langster's Track and Trail bros...I felt that needed to be said.

I don’t know man, even if you get a factory ride, you’re going to have to work after unless you’re someone like James or Ricky. I would just give your kids a lifetime hobby and good memories of their parents.

Pros get divorced when they stop racing and normal riders get divorced when they go racing..

Doug Henry on the first 4 stroke and winning like we never did see!

The next year, I bought the first 250f and just starting it, ruined my knee.

That first week, it proudly sat frumunder our little Xmas tree with glee!

She said she wanted a house, and I had to admit the bike wasn't free!

I said I am the baddest ass guy in Alaska, watch me ride, and I hit a tree...

Everyone in the parking area laughed so hard they had to pee...

And no blame on her- it was probably a good choice to run and flee...

Ever since I became single again, I make 'em scream like a banshee!!!

Chin-up, be grateful, there is more time to ride with friends, that's key!!!

The older guy's advice doesn't apply like it did 5+ years ago.  The world has changed best bet is to adapt redpill knowledge...move from there.

this!!! Woohoo

so many guys go into relationships blind and wind up getting okey-doked down the road.

unless she was rocking with you from a young age and will stick with you through thick and thin its not worth it.

Just make sure you make her feel like she’s more important to you than the hobby is.

a very good friend of mine needs to shape up on this- they’ve just had their second child, the child is breast-fed and demanding. The other toddler equally demanding. Money isn’t in abundance, he’s got finance on his bike and camper, spends monthly on riding and constantly posts on Facebook about how excited he is to go riding at the weekend all the while leaving the wife at home with two kids struggling on her own.
it seems disrespectful to me no wonder they end up arguing regularly & I’ve told him he needs to shape up. He insists he’s not going to give up his hobby, which is fair enough but he really needs to put a bit more focus on his family development rather than focusing on mx.

Forget shape up, your very good friend needs to grow the F up.   Friends of mine have two sons in law. Both in their early 30s but while one has a job, works hard and is a real father, the other sounds like your buddy except replace MX with video games.  Their daughter does everything but it is also on her to stop enabling this behavior.  As it stands, she has an additional child to take care of instead of a husband who contributes.

Lame but guess is what happens when you live with your parents then get married but instead of a wife, you act like she's your new mom.  Dr. Phil signing off.

Keefer has a family and does what he loves with them.  Does it get any better than that?   Being single in your 50s in today's world compared to what Keefer has going on, he for sure is crushing it IMO.

My wife knew exactly who I was when we got married. At one point I had 11 bikes between my main ride, vintage bikes, the  kids and her quad. About the kids, we had twins and then a third in a span of 21 months. Nobody needed to tell me where or when I needed to be there. I got away from riding for about 3 years but I was never without a bike in the garage since 1972. I didn't mind. She has always been supportive of my riding. The worst thing she ever said when I brought a 92 KX250 home when she had no clue was that the green was ugly. I am pretty lucky to have someone that didn't see any need to change me.

If things started out good then got to this then the OP has fucked up priorities.

I will say I know people that got a bomb dropped on them after they got married and had nothing to do with moto. "Now that we're married, some things are going to change". Fuck that, time to eject.

We did, that's what our last fight was over. I haven't talked to since he took with his quad and some fat chick from the Pacific Northwest. I don’t have an IG account but I heard he is now a "social influencer" and does all sorts of crazy, illegal stunts on his quad. I guess he got arrested try to wheelie around a grocery store and nailed Fatty on a rascal head on and got arrested. Haven't heard if he made bail yet.

Hate to tell you but,  you have deeper lying issues with your marriage.  Motocross is just the scape goat. Its something to point the finger at.
