I went to Fox just a bit ago and saw they had some LE RC gear similar to some gear he wore back around 2005, I believe it was called Vertigo. Doesn't look bad to me, brings back memories.

I love throwback gear. I hope they continue to do more, specifically the orange fox gear RC wore in 01 when he broke out in 250 supercross.

I saw this the other day too. Thor has also been doing some throwback gear. They had some in the spring.  That FOX RC gear looks cool. Its only in the 180 gear though.  Kinda surprised they didn't go with 360 . But the new 180 stuff is probably nicer than the old 360 gear.

the new 180 gear is made out of tissue paper as is the modern 360 gear. Old 360 gear was very quality, however.

I love that gear, it was easily my favorite set of stuff growing up. I had the red and white set.

According to the way their website reads, they will be releasing 2 more RC throwback kits also. I would assume a 360 version and flex air version?

It seems like that is the way younger riders like their gear. Less focus on how long it will last , and more focus on how little you notice your wearing anything.  Almost all the jersey's we see come through to be lettered are super thin now.  Some of the higher end 2023  Alpinestars jersey's are made with Elastane and polyester . And are heavier than the current Thor Prime,   Fox and Shift , and most other brands   stuff that we have seen.  When The customer handed them to me I was surprised at how much I could feel the weight. They have some  thinner rubber like , or thicker heat transfer style logos on them.  I have not heard back from the customer on how they are lasting. And I did not see the pants in person. Fox was or maybe is using Elastane in some flexair stuff. A strange thing I noticed about the Fox jerseys was the neck hole was not centered on some of the Flexair gear. I thought it was a defect. The customer got a couple replacements and they all were the same. We do not sell Fox gear here so I do not see the pants really ever . But the high end jerseys all seem to be super thin and ready to self destruct now days.  I imagine the Flexair pants are similar to the Thor Prime,  everything but the knee and ass area are flexible stretch materials ( Knees are leather and butt area is the more common nylon style material). And everybody that try's them , loves how the gear is. It is super easy to move around in and not restrictive at all. But its also the tight fitting style  that is not the greatest for all body types .The consumers are all demanding the super thin , not so durable gear these days, otherwise there wouldn't be so many options out there. I bet that tree branches must shred gear on guys that ride in the woods often.

I still have two full sets of the technique gear, one set is orange and the other is blue.  I actually went to ride in the blue set a couple years ago and it blew me away how heavy it was.  I guess extra weight comes with durability!!

Tacky then, tacky now IMO. The mid-to-late ‘00s gear became too busy for my liking, but that’s just me.

His 2001 gear looked classic..or really any gear he ever wore on the Kawi (including AXO Grinning )

Hopefully one of the sets is what he wore in the PC KX125 video

I would buy multiple sets right now. Some of the PC guys wore that during the nationals.

Here are my 3 cents… the harsh truth in my opinion is;  since Greg and Pete fox stopped being involved in product development the company lost its "freshness ness". The market doesn’t respond positively to the new stuff. Too many graphic designers reporting to corporate folks with no "feel" of moto making decisions. Zero real world experience. Remember the zebra stuff Pete did in 1986-7 ish with RJ? This is not that stuff. Most of the new stuff IMO  is ugly. And is not uncommon. It’s actually very common. Founders run company for x years. Get older… want to cash out. Kids… may or may not get along. I haven’t heard anything about Greg fox in years. Pete shows up here and there… Standard practice. Dad and mom… want to enjoy their lives. Kids have enough to be just fine. Lets cash out…Nothing new here…..

Now the new corporate folks take over. These are the folks with the $ that acquire the control of the company and hand mom and dad a nice check. New owners insert their “team” mostly of … non industry folks. Think bean counters (accounts). Bean counters have no feel for business. Very few accounts are ... or should be CEO's. You need to know  the company numbers. But to catch the next inflection on the market you can't look at the numbers alone. Bean counters can't do this! The new team gets marching orders to push new designs via hired guns with no feel of the moto industry onto the moto industry. Grow the business... push.. push.. the old team didn't realize how much more $ we could make. Demand min order sizes from dealers as we want the the big guys only (I could do an hour on this.. and how just stupid that mind set is... the smaller folks always build the brand as it starts. Never ignore them. Embrace them). This is why they buy it. “We” know more about the business then the founders. Then their team produces funky stuff… that mostly doesn’t “hit”… most “misses” with the market. The old guard is let go…And so it goes. This is not new… this happens in most family businesses…

This is not uncommon. It's actually standard practice. A family, or group of folks build up a business with a certain design style... then sold. The talent .. and ability to find, and manage the talent.. is gone. Replaced by corp drones. Sad.... cycle repeats.

Some of the recent stuff has looked like knock off fox gear in my opinion .  I do like a lot of their colorways and designs still. But I agree that it has lost the Fox feel since Pete fox has been away. That RC replica gear is one of the most copied designs I've seen in MX gear. MSR  had some gear that was very similar in design as far as graphics go.  and I've seen it on a couple other brands too. I can not remember them right now. Maybe Answer , I think Leatt had a similar design also. They  all took the design and made some changes to it so it is not identical. But that spiral of shapes is visible in all of them. Some distorted more than others. I'm sure there are a lot of other designs that are similar to each other over the years. This one is just the one I have noticed over and over.

Fascinating. Thanks for your input.

Oh I know, but it was Stewart so who knows. Remember there is a picture of a CR125 in a garage at the Stewart compound as well.

He used to ride a 250 during the week. Probably just put black plates on as that’s all they had at the house. Who knows
