Best truck tonneau covers for dirtbikes

To piggyback, has anyone tried one of the soft toppers for their trucks?  Does a bike fit?

I've always had great luck with the Undercover Ultra Flex, and Armor Flex. They do block the back window when up, but they have arms that keep the cover from rubbing against the cab when up. If you have to take the flex all the way off, it's super easy and a one-person job. You can try one of the hard roll up covers from Retrax but you might lose a little bit of space at the front since the cover will ultimately have to roll itself up into that area. 

I use the OEM trifold for my Honda Ridgeline. It's actually really easy to take on/off completely, takes about 3 minutes, so I just pop it on when I am going for a family road trip, during the middle of winter, et cetera, and leave it off when I am riding a lot.

I bought a Lomax trifold hard cover because it can be completely removed (except for the side rails) for the times when I throw a bike in the back. I also looked at the Bakflip MX4 because it folds up into a stored position but then you can't see out the back window. Overall I like the Lomax so far. 

Yeah, if you want something that is most waterproof, safe, and durable, probably best to just get one that is easy to remove.

I have a Gator tri fold with a bed rug with a Moto-Tote. I used to be the guy that never used a ramp and just lifted the front tire into the truck and grabbed the swingarm to lift the bike the rest of the way. With four strokes and taller trucks than my old S10 back in the day it's just easier to haul with a good carrier. Having the Bed Rug is a great place to sit and the bonus is my Turbo Levo fits under the tonneau so it basically lives in my truck. 

Tonneau covers and dirtbike's just don't work well together so best bet is get one that is easy and fast to remove. I have a back flip 4 on my ram but I rarely carry a dirtbike in it. My RAM only has a 5 foot 7 inch bed anyway so not much use for hauling race bikes to the track other than my pitbike but I still have to run the tailgate down with a bed extender for that bike.   

My brother in law has a roll up tonneau, seems to work fine but does leak a little in the rain. 
 

Another option is soft topper canopy’s, they fold forward and out of the way pretty quickly and look pretty cool with the sides rolled up imo 

I had to use my work truck to go ride last week, which is the 5.5’ bed f150 with a bakflip mx4 hard cover, What a pain in the ass. And when it’s flipped up against the back window you can’t see your bike at all, I’d go for one that rolls up backwards, not into the bed 

Ive got one of the tyger soft roll ups on a short bed Tacoma.  Works great for the bikes and doesn't leak enough to worry about.   I do space the bike back with a 2x4 so I don't squish it.

I get the sarcasm, but mine doesn't let any water in. Have you owned one of these covers and had a bad experience or are you just speculating that because it's convenient that it can't also be good?

I use and recommend a Truxport roll up cover. Sturdy and rolls up in seconds. I get my bike in corner to corner (Tacoma) easily and use the stock bed rail tie down mounts to prevent it from hitting the cover rolled up. 

I wasn’t being sarcastic…I have a trifold that is easy to remove and it’s great. 

I use a soft roll up and it's great , doesn't leak . I haul my bikes two or three times a week about 8 months a year with no problems . 

I put a Rough Country retractable cover on my GMC short box a few weeks ago. I thought it would be small enough that I’d be able to get my bike in sideways and close the tailgate, but I was off by about 3 inches. Story of my life. 
It’s a nice cover and easy to take on and off, so not a huge deal. 

This is what I use. I have a Bak Revolver X4 roll up metal framed cover.

I got a tonneau cover for trips with the whole family, I never thought I would get one but I don't mind it now and helps keep stuff dry. It has stayed on my truck since I installed it, I specifically got one that rolls up because I think most tri folds will not work well with a bike. I got a Tyger $250 cover on amazon and it works fine. The only time I have noticed water get in is at the car wash. Most rains it doesn't let anything in, or if it does it is very little.

My brother bought an $1,100 BAK Revolver cover and it's nice. I would suggest getting one that rolls up if you are putting bikes in the bed. Just roll it up and done. My brothers BAK Revolver is roll up but it feels sturdy and holds like 400 lbs so its definitely a nice roll up cover.

That is what I will get when I order my next new truck, really like the roll up.

In this same situation. Would a gator trax retractable cover fit a bike in a 5’7” bed? Tundra
