Lock downs, riots, fires and GDP going down. Should we be gearing up for Covid round 2? What do the Chinese know that we don't? What the hell is in this virus that's so bad that they're willing to destroy their economy again?

China's covid vaccine was made in China... so naturally it sucks. Turns out spraying streets with disinfectant and killing dogs doesn't get rid of covid and an oppressive govt is bound to lead to an uprising.
Seems it's starting. Maybe it's not.

I guarantee they've had Millions die there from Covid, even with their Shut Downs / Lock Ups. With what has been pretty thoroughly shown a largely ineffective Vaccine / set of Vaccines that they have, well, I'm sure they've many, many square miles of graves, or, more likely, many crematories going full throttle since early 2020.
The various, severely restricted and blocked reportage and examination of China's utterly reprehensible handling of the initial start of Covid 19, show that they broke all rules and standards for disease control and disclosure.
That, is just a complete betrayal of humanity.
And, I doubt they ( well, we've) learned much of a lesson about the dangers of pandemics. I believe we will have far worse to come in the future, and while a regime / regimes will indulge in such denial, cover up and inaction, we will loose Millions, and destroy the Worlds economy through such bastards as Xi Jinping and his minions hubris, lies and dishonesty.

We Australians probably had a far easier time with Visas than Americans ever had, but yes, you'd need to jump through a lot of hoops to be there, for anything but the brief time you'd spend there for say, Trade shows.
But, with the way things are now, with them deciding Australia is the small ( by population ) Western country they want to f**k over / treat as a Vassal state, I've no desire to go there anymore. I get paid better, with far more 'freedom' of movement, and interesting work, working elsewhere. Not that I do much OS work nowadays. That's of course down to the last few years s**t storm(s), but also my being a bit over it all. I'm getting old, and fragile, too. Travel Insurance is becoming quite difficult to get, and that's bloody important

I was talking to an older lady that said she has had five vaccines and boosters and still got Covid. But she was glad she got them because otherwise "I probably would have died." It's incredible people believe this bullshit. I never got the jab and I got Covid twice in two years, but the same thing happened to everybody I know that got the jab.
