Wow, great news. Hope the bikes aren't beaten up to bad. The thieves should have to pay restitution for the broken stuff.

Yeah, I'm not sure exactly what condition they're in, other than it sounded like they were complete, and not parted out.

Thanks to a phone tip to MX Sports, CT State Police have apprehended the people behind the theft of bikes and gear at Unadilla.

Willy Browning's bike has been recovered. Ben Lamay's bike was sold, but apparently the thief is cooperating with the authorities, and they're working on recovering it as well, and it will be returned ASAP.

Besides the bikes, all the riding gear, and a $3,000 mountain bike belonging to Justin Weeks was recovered. Apparently the person responsible for the theft was parked inside the pits on Friday night, and was gone in the morning. MX Sports is working to determine how they got into the pits (apparently they came in with another person).

But all-in-all, good news!

The SOB that bought Ben Lamays bike should be charged with receiving stolen property also.

I think thats a little too far. the guy that bought it probably didnt know. He already lost his cash that he paid for the bike.

They need to find out who the dirtbags are that let these punks into the pits and ban them for life from all races.

Usually a person knows when it's stolen goods! You know, like when it's a steal of a deal! Get it!

Thanks GuyB,

We knew that we had a lead on the gear and bikes early yesterday morning. MXSports really stepped up and helped expedite the recovery. I am still in total disbelief as is Willy and the rest of the team.

Not exactly how he got all of the gear out of the pro pits but hoping he tells authorities so this kind of thing doesnt happpen again!!!

I'm so happy for everyone that had something stolen! This is a huge win especially for the small teams that barely scrape by to get to the next race. Lets hope Bens bike is still in great shape!

Thank everyone!

MX sports should pay the impound fee. After all it was poor security in the first place that caused this.

Glad to hear they were caught. And the stuff recovered.

Please tell me you're kidding about MX Sports being somehow responsible for this.

Using that theory, if someone breaks into your garage, and steals your crap, it's your garage builders liability for not putting 10 locks on the door instead of just one.

If someone is determined to steal something, they will usually find a way. I just don't see that MX Sports "caused" this.

Oh, let's see grand theft, transporting stolen goods across interstate lines, receiving stolen goods.... should be trespassing as well when Unadilla and MX Sports prove that thye did not have authorization to be in the pits. Also, I'm sure they probably got caught for a few other things as thieves usually do... had drugs on them, illegal wapons, driving a stolen car, etc.

Hey, let me know when they need to be transported to court/jail. I offer my services. I'm pretty good at it, although previously some of my escortees have been known to fall down steps, repeatedly.

I hope they are registered into a therapy class and someone talks to them and finds out why they did it and then make them understand that it is wrong to steal; it hurts people. I'm sure that they didn't look at it from the other side; Once that is understood, things can begin to heal in this world.

Have you ever seen what people do to stuff after they steal it??? I hope they get their stuff back in good condition.

My friends bike got stolen at Budd's Creek. The thief somehow got his phone number after cops returned his bike. He was asking for money for a new chain and sprocket that he put on the bike.
