I got to rip the 300xc and my buddies 250xc tonight for a bit. The 300 has so much torque compared to the 250. Loamy berms and ruts the 300 rips out of the turns where the 250 drives through them and carries momentum really well. The feeling of weight (or lack thereof) is incredible. This bike feels 50 pounds lighter than the 350 in turns. I don’t think it’s as fast or tractable as the 4 stroke top end wise but it’s more nimble and turns really well. I didn’t get to wind it out though. First impression, this bike is incredible. I can’t wait for the suspension to break in.

In my experience in the MC industry the ES is a cheap junk plug that will foul easily. Testing my memory but I think it was a BR8EGV that I ran. Wasn't it by running a Non R Resistor plug would messed with the ignition.

The BR8ES plug is inexpensive, but I have never had one in a FI bike, but they did seem to foul up with improperly jetted 2-strokes from the late 70’s- early 80’s.
I’d think KTM put them to the test and had no issues, or the bikes would require another $30 spark plug.
I’d rather pay more and not think about it.

Did any of you guys that greased your linkage have any side to side play in the lower shock bearing? when I was swapping the shock spring, I noticed mine does. I popped off the metal dust caps to check it out, but nothing seems wrong in there. I'm not sure what's causing the issue.

Thanks man. I did read that. Mine seems to be something different. It seems like the metal dust caps are pushing the inner sleeve back and forth causing the side to side movement. I'll see if I can figure out how to upload a video that shows the play.

Rode about 30-40 miles today on the XC300. I hate to be the guy that repeats everything that has been said already, but this bike is bitchen !
It pulls 3rd gear up the tight technical stuff we rode today like a champ. Big midrange motor… so happy with it, that’s about all I can say. Cool

Rushed home, unloaded and hauled ass to pick up my SX300. Just getting home now, but I’ll be busy tomorrow going through it. Should have it all together by Friday. The orange plastics will be here Thursday, which is the only thing I need to complete it. Hoping to ride it next weekend…

We have a customer that picked one up Thursday. Broke it in Friday and was going to race it yesterday. Bike has just under 2 hours. Went to start it yesterday for the moto and it would start and shut off instantly. Checked all the connections, it's getting fuel air and spark so back to the dealer Tuesday morning....

First ride report vet b ., I took my 2022 yz 250 two stroke for comparison. For thing I noticed is how smooth it runs with very little vibration . Very smooth power that pulls strong all the way through. I used the vented air box cover . It’s not the classic two stroke punch at all , back to back my yz was loud , vibrated and had more of a light switch kind of power , the new ktm makes two strokes feel very modern. I also have a 22 kx450sr as well and the best way I can describe the ktm is it bridges the gap between both ! The one thing I was super concerned with was the suspension , the last ktm I owned was a 2018 factory edition 450 and I hated the air forks …….. all I can say is wow best suspension I have ever rode stock by far , so much so that I always send my stuff off but I’m not on this one , I suggest before you send off ride it first man it’s good !!!! Overall I had a blast and felt very confident on it. I don’t need two bikes anymore (2-stroke and a 4 -stroke) the ktm is the best of both worlds!!!!

Better and my kyb stuff has been done by factory connection, my 22 kx450sr has it kybs done by Enzo ,

That Looks normal to me, just to be clear: the bearing sleeve inside the bearing has side to side movement correct? The bearing should be tight inside the knuckle , once shock is installed into the linkage, the movement should be minimal…

Correct, just the caps pushing the sleeve back and forth. The actual bearing is in there nice and tight.

I got to ride the 300 at Pax Trax today. A few things. The gas cap on the XC models is different than the SX models. There’s a button you have to push. Know this before you grab the channel locks.
I rode three motos on the bike. The first two were in the white map. Kind of mellow but feels like the two strokes of old, maybe a little smoother. I went out for the third Moto and realized I forgot there were other map modes. I put it in the green map mode…….holy shit. This bike freaking rips on another level in the green mode. It’s a sheer brute down low and will throw you off the back of the seat when it hooks mid rut. My cornering was a lot better in the white mode than the green mode. The bike feels like a stock 250 in the white mode and a built 300 in the green mode. It’s an awesome machine! No doubt this thing is way faster and way more fun to ride than my old yz295 with a Lectron.
The suspension is super squishy (200 pound vet) but I think it will be awesome in the woods. I moved the forks to the first line below the fork cap and it turns so much better. I never even checked the air pressure in the fork. I was too excited to ride this thing.

Question. Does the cases have room for a stroker? Being same stroke as 250cc, but more bore lends less rev-power. Just wondering if going a longer stroke would be good for higher revs/power.
