Ran across a clean YZ400F with original bars and warning stickers. Always wanted one of these, and trying to decide is this is worth it if I can get less then 2k. Would be fun to just clean up a bit.

What do you guys think?

I say go for it even a 2k for that clean of bike. Love my 98 just looks better yellow😎

Looks pretty clean… I have the swingarm linkage hole plugs….been in one of my tool boxes since about 1999😂

I'm surprised you see hardly any builds of this iconic model. Go for it, looks super clean!

The 400/426 were really good bikes …. Once you master how to start them.

And yes we have hoses for them!

Hell yeah.They even put the 03 cam in it so it has auto compression release. You could even race that bike against modern bikes and you wouldn't be at a crazy disadvantage. That's a great bike

That brings back memories. My old man had one when I was a kid racing in the late 90s and early 2000s. He loved that bike as long as it would start and he didn’t stall it. He had a whole routine to get it to start, especially on a cold morning. Lots of profanity when it didn’t want to light, though!
