The Shop

I wonder if they will go with the direct to consumer model they had when they were last selling gear , or if they will have it available to dealers to sell too? I've got a bunch of old Alias jersey's I used to make jersey lettering samples for display at our shop. They went into storage after Alias closed up. As a consumer I thought it was cool they were selling directly to the consumer at a discounted price ,which helped people be able to have more sets of gear and get a great value. As a dealer I wonder what happened to the dealers who had stock still when they started to sell direct to consumer at 30% or whatever less than the dealers were selling it for. I liked that the brand was born from New England and thought it was cool. I could see it being kinda like Canvas gear. But you get set designs to customize by changing the colors to whatever and maybe they sublimate your name and number on too as an option. I could see more gear companies go that way as manufacturing and materials keep advancing. Maybe they offer their high end line as a customizable line as far as colors but the designs are set. That way they have control over the look of the gear still. Maybe have a line that has Alias logos in set areas , and a few set elements of the design, but then the customer could change colors, or add a pattern , or add some design elements too. But that might be getting too far away from the things that people seem to like about the brand. Seems like most people liked that it was decent gear , that held up well ,and did not cost as much as other gear. The custom concept might end up costing too much , or making fit or durability suffer.I know a bunch pr people that will be very happy that Alias will have new gear. They have been wearing stuff they got before they stopped and I'm sure they could use fresh stuff by now.

I bet its straight to consumer - its the only way they can compete with shitty gear companies like FLY and THOR that are just loss leaders for various distributors

I’m pumped for this. They had some pretty good stuff for a decent price
Hope they don't go the Renen route and only have limited drops at high prices. Rode Alias for many years and really would like to go...

I agree, if it’s absurd prices, I’m out.

I've talked to multiple friends/old customers and they all agreed the new pricing is fair for the product you're receiving. Quality is very high like it used to be, if not better. I've been rotating the same 4 sets for the last 5 months with no holes in the pants from my knee braces. I think everyone will be very happy with our new gear & it's all made right here in the US. I'll be releasing more info this week!

Shitty heat pressed shirts? I hope I’m wrong, but a lot of merch that cums out of moto is hot garbage.

I'm an old customer. Multi time actually. Alias is probably my favorite, tied with Thor? Either way..

I was satisfied with the way the gear wore and it took knee brace abuse well. What I think might have been missed in my post is not price:quality, but just price. Period. I won't speak for anyone else because it seems that Vital demographic is typically older guys with money but $300 gear sets just isn't cutting it. I still wear mine, and hope to be a customer again.

what's a drop?
Like most of the Zoomer Gen lingo, it's culturally appropriated ghetto/ebonics. "Drop" originated years ago in the Rap/Hip Hop music industry to mean "release date".

It spread across the music industry in general, and now pretty much any industry that caters to the Zoomer demographic.

Some of the newer fabrics being used can not be sublimated and some of the most expensive gear is coming with heat transfers on them now. And sometimes they go extra thick with them too. I think the Supertech Alpinestars jerseys are one of the lines with heat transfers on them. Fox and shift have also been using more heat transfers recently. Technically Sublimated shirts are made with heat and pressure too . The KTM team clothing is all heat transfers or DTG now. There are high quality heat press materials. But a lot of the digitally printed heat transfers have a cheap feel and will fade quicker than a screen printed or sublimated item. Some of the Fox Flexair jerseys are made with materials that can not be sublimated . The 2023 Alpinestars supertech shirts have some super stretchy and fine mesh that lets them flow air but not as much dirt and sand. They are still mostly polyester. I think some of the gear companies want the contrast of gloss on the matte finish of the fabric or colors that are not able to be sublimated and that's why they go with the heat transfer and some are doing it because of the materials used. Sublimation is the easiest , most cost effective way to get a design onto MX gear when you are building it . I guess you are probably talking about T shirts not riding gear. Other than adding on rider names, number and sponsor logos , and the higher end lines from a few companies , Heat transfers are not used in production of much motocross gear. In a production environment they end up costing more time and money to use than sublimation.I have been disappointed by some of the T shirts I've gotten recently. I don't think its just moto merch though, its a lot of the lower cost print on demand merch that is available.

Best shit I heard all day. I still rock my old blue and pink stuff time to time. Most favorite stuff I own. Hope it’s still at a good price point.

I don't know why everyone is so amped up. It isn't a new drop, it's just the containers they ordered at the end of 2019 finally showed up!

I still have several sets and think it’s some of the best looking gear I’ve ever owned. It wears great and never had any issues with it. I’m pretty excited to see what they have to offer now!
