Congrats James. He’s in such a good place and glad he gets to share this honor with the people who mean the most to him. Like none other!

Congrats Bubba! I thought he was excellent up there during his speech and thought it was pretty cool that he showed some vulnerability on the mic. We got lucky being able watch two of the most exciting riders of all time with him and TP in their primes.

Is that usual with hall of fame speeches, he said 40-50 people from the MX/SX industry showed up for his induction? I wonder who came, he mentioned a few like Jbone of course and Baker. I’m surprised he got so emotional talking about Baker. I didn’t know they had that close of a relationship.

Has he ever publicly addressed how and why he ghosted the MX industry for so long, and what made him come back around?

I will always say this is the reason James went out like he did. Concussion problems ended his career before he stopped riding in my opinion. I believe the 4 years he disappeared he was able to get his head straight and focus on life. Hope he sticks around the sport and even rides a bit like Chad. He has a great personality and makes the sport brighter when he is around.

Thank you for posting the link! I though his speech was amazing. I was expecting the typical robotic answers, and instead got to see a very real side of James Stewart. As fans we are so lucky to have gotten to experience his career. I found his comment interesting about how in 08 when he went 24/24 in the Outdoors, he didn't enjoy any of it.

Man, that was raw and authentic. I loved it. James has a whole new perspective on life compared to the James as a racer. In a way he had some heavy weight on his shoulder from the start by being bullied, doubted growing up and wanting to make his father happy by winning. Those aspects of himself that developed over time helped him do what he did on two wheels. looking back there seems to be relief being released now those roles are no longer needed. (eg, having to always be the FMOTP, expected to win, etc.).

James's speech was epic and I'm glad he's back in the sport. Not sure about concussion issues but James had a nice break from the sport during this WADA suspension. Unfortunately, he came back to the sport overweight, unprepared and the rest is history.

Besides MC in the 90’s James is my all time favorite rider. So happy he is involved in the sport again. Was never more excited to watch a race then when he was lined up.

I'm surprised he was inducted given his history with the drugs ban. I guess being a clean athlete isn't important any more?

Wow I didn't expect him to be so emotional. Say what you want, think what you want, he made the sport exciting and impressed every competitor, fan and fellow people in the industry. The sport was his life from the age of 3 and I think it starts to sink in now what he has accomplished and that he is part of the small group of the greatest riders of all time.

I'm still amazed by the hate some grown-up people on these forums can have towards riders in general. This guy entertained us with his raw talent and commitment for several years. Even though his last few years weren't as succesfull, you can't deny what he did. If you search on Youtube for compilations with impressive dirtbike things, James Stewart is always right in there. I hope he stays within the industry for several years with his podcasts and track-side reporting and wish him all the best.

You say that now, but there's some major studs on Vital that could show James a thing or too about riding a dirtbike fast. They show up at the track with a Factory edition 450 of some brand, full size lifted truck, brand new helmet and boots, and brand new gear that holds their fat bellys in place. Go ride a lap or two, complain somethings wrong with there bike and post up on their tailgate with a White Claw, cheeseball sunglasses, and a dick broom mustache for the rest of the day looking like a chomo.

Really? There’s always this guy. James or the people in his Mgmt. didn’t file the necessary paperwork. It was more of a clerical error than it was he wasn’t allowed to race while taking Adderall. He definitely paid his dues and it cut his career short. Though if you want to call out people in the “Hall of Fame” the 90’s was one big party and talked about numerous times.

I know you can tell there was a lot of emotions boiled up from over the years. Big James has made a few references but I can only imagine what they went through being a black family in a white dominated sport. The fact that James was a prodigy probably made it worse. Though he didn’t let that keep him from rising to the top.

I’m sure his family made a lot of sacrifices but James has mentioned he had to win. If not they could not afford to race. That mentality resulted in the fastest and most innovative rider the sport has seen. It also resulted in a lot of crashes but he always gave us a show. He’s the only guy outside of my son that actually gave me butterflies because you never knew what was going to happen.

If you ask anyone at the top of the sport past or present who was the fastest on a dirt bike they all agree it James Stewart.

Just my opinion, I don't think we'll ever see the amount of complete family dedication that RV and James families put out. Kids today aren't raised as tough as those kids back then, they are used to everything being handed to them.

I guess knowing the facts before accusing someone of illicit drug use isn't important anymore. James's mistake was not filing the TUE as brocsdad alluded to and there was nothing 'dirty" in the equation,
