I think the broadcast overall today was definitely a step up from cardiff, but man the replays were really too much. At one point they showed 6 different replays of the start in race 3. I think we have seen like 6 out of 12 laps.

Honestly replay, excessive or not, is like a tell you have oldies in your production crew.

We have the internet, we will see it again if we wish. We will never see the race if you don’t show it.

You’d think the guys running it would pitch the idea of “Hey Let’s try not building a shtty track this time aye”…
Rhythm lanes with 2-3 combinations, stupid goat trail S turns, crappy dirt down to the plywood ffs ?
Do better seriously

It will be a learning curve for the organizers I'm assuming that's why they're even launched this 2 race series for experience and improvement sake.

They are going to have to come up with a better way for their cameras, it works for F1 and MotoGP but I just don't think the tech is there for a small form camera to perform under lights and being vibrated up and down the whole time, either fix it or ditch it until you've found a solution.

I enjoyed the broad cast and racing a lot, they could do with some more distance shots of the field there, the close action shots were amazing but there were too much of them and I feel like I'm missing the racing at times.

I loved the Superpole it's just great to get to see everyone's individual lap checking out their style and technique line choice, the camera work was really good for this type of racing.

Otherwise it was really good, I hope they succeed, Remember Americans, the more eyes and growth from this will bring fans your way too.

The broadcast is so interrupted with replays, TERRIBLE on board cameras multiple times and for waaaaaaay too long. I don’t know how they let this go on. Surely they all thought it was terrible after round 1 and would pull the pin. Fark me. Great idea, but it’s so crappy, give it up.

After watching Motogp all day and then switching to this, looks so subpar.

Glad that it was a dramatic end for the titles, and the boys walked away mostly injury free and with some extra money for the year. Really hope Joey can get a good program asap. Pumped for him.

Can’t believe they used the on boards again at all let alone for extended periods. Garbage. Ken still wins after suffering a flat. Friese takes out his own team. This is about as perfect a storybook ending as could be hoped for.

That’s interesting as I don’t remember ever seeing in the hype that the titles paid out. Only that the purse was big each round. I would think since Kenny was paid by the promoters to race and not a team that he might get nothing beyond the purse money. Who knows. The purse is paid to the team and how much of any makes to the rider differs based on the agreements between them. There’s no OEM title bonus here. I hope we find this out.

Sorry but I’m not holding my breath that someone who never saw SX watched these races and will now be interested in US SX/MX based on that. These guys have been doing SX races in big stadiums for a few years now so they didn’t just start this at Round 1. The learning curve should have been completed some time ago.

There is way to many mid race replays. Also can they not act like there is only 2 guys on track, battles thought-out the field but we get to watch Joey ride around on his own or Kenny walking around with his helmet off as the race is going on. There was some good racing but it's really hard to watch it if they don't show it. The Australian commentators yesterday put Ralph n Jeff to shame

Thanks, it starts at about 51 min in on this replay. Brayton only spoke the truth.

There were some aspects of the broadcast tonight in terms of camera angles and spidercam and the slow mo that were absolute best ever.

How on earth they can throw to that sketchy on-bike vision beats me. There's a crappy reflection of the lights or there's a film in front of the camera that is just terrible. That said, a couple of the on-bike shots were really good. Like two. Just two. The drone tonight was the best ever and the spider cam is a Superstar.

My enjoyment of Supercross was enhanced in the last couple of years with the Lawrence brother's being involved. Quite frankly I wasn't interested much of anything else that didn't involve the boys. However, tonight, I thought it was awesome watching Max Anstie, Col Thompson, Savatgy, McElrath Tanti . . . Some really good racing.

The Australian promoters are to be congratulated for putting on such a good show. I've been to the AUS-X a couple of times and they know how to make it happen.

I think the bad picture from those camera's comes from the vibration of the bike, they are woeful, though it was the only camera angle that didn't work, the rest of the coverage was pretty dam good.

Needs a little polishing here and there, but overall for a first year pilot series,

Ralph must have been paid a bonus for every time he used the word "World".

I was sitting right next to the quad, they had literally 2m of run up it was hectic. The single into the berm was crap. Also they had these giant cardboard boxes for Ads on top of the berms which meant you couldn’t see any of the ruts developing. Once the riders started smashing them it was so much better.
Deano looked sore as.
Savatgy deserved the win for sure after his own adversity.
Would of been better if they let more locals in the heats to actually make the heats worthy of doing.

Received an email with a survey from them. You can win a trip for 4 to attend the Australian round next year, so I filled it out. It didn't take that much time. They asked about the broadcast and how they can improve, track layouts, riders, etc.

Here's a link if anyone else wants to fill it out.

If I knew I could write a $500 check for Kenny, Deano, Joey etc etc to do a superpole lap sign me up!

Kenny almost looked embarrassed trying to pretend he was stoked to win that giant check. Surely you could get more than $500 for a sprint lap like that.

Did you mention any area for improvement?

The only one format wise I would mention is race length/time. The first two races are too short imo. Hopefully they fix it next year.

I mentioned that the excessive use of replays needs to be scaled back, the on-board camera shots are okay but need to be massively improved in terms of image quality, the races are too short, rider quality is on par with what I expected, same with the track designs. Could always improve on the last two points.
