MX- title contender
If the team can figure out their technical DNF issues, outdoors could be a little better...I'm seriously worried about bike issues for him.
But if I had to put money down on a prediction.
I would gamble he races 2-4 rounds of sx. Gets injured. It effects his mx series and cannot ride to his full potential.
Pit Row
Crash in first turn of first supercross
Win an overall or two outdoors
In that case, same as he always does. Struggle through SX, possible injury and sit out the rest of the winter and focus on mx where he will be a top 3 rider.
Then hopefully he contends for a championship outdoors. Does he still have the raw speed in mx? Likely, however their are some real fast young riders (Shimoda, H. Lawrence), that aren't going to be easy for him to beat. I say top 3 in MX if he's healthy all season
How could it be a positive move to go from that to a B-level team (although Club Yamaha is probably the best non-factory team)? You're completely right, he will with high probability be the same (or maybe worse because of the increased risk of mechanical failures).
But that is still a very high level. Top-3 outdoors on a 250, top-5 if things go well indoors.
