If a horse track will work maybe the Del Mar fairgrounds would work. They had a flat track race one year so maybe ? It's close to the beach (so 30 degrees cooler then Pomona) and has parking, bleachers, concessions, bathrooms etc....
I think Del Mar Would be more open minded about it... than the closed minded people at santa anita.

I like the idea of the Red Bull against Monster , What if they added in Rockstar and they had the straight rhythm track ( Red Bull) a circle track ( Monster) And a Hard enduro part ( Rockstar) THe circle or oval track could be flat , or have it be a jump filled track that you are constantly turning on. Maybe a Giant S shape. It would probably take up way too much space though. The Oval could work and if it was flat track style it could open up the race to other racers too. A 2 out of 3 could have the flat track and hard enduro winner get an overall. Probably never happen . Would be cool to watch. Getting a single bike to work well on all 3 tracks would be a little bit much to ask for and prepping 3 bikes per rider would also be asking for a lot. They could waterdown the tracks a little but so that Enduro guys could run the SX part and SX guys could run the enduro parts. Imagine the enduro fans ,SX and flat track fans all together .I watched on ESPN the next day. and the broadcast was delayed by a volleyball game . I had recorded the race on my DVR and I was able to see the entire show , but it cut off at the interviews. The TV audio was great. A good mix of bike sounds and showing what was going on. It could always be better . But I enjoyed watching racing and hearing the sweet sounds of the 2 strokes. It would have been cool to see somebody like Ping do something on the bikes in the pits .But was there any downtime that would have allowed for that to fit into the show? I'm sure there will be a lot of content available on the bikes over the next few weeks.I think Ping could have been a great replacement for the woman they had. I don't know who she is , she did ok. But it seemed like she did not know a lot about the sport I could be wrong. I just think that Ping would work very well with all of the other people that were doing the live and broadcast announcing. I liked how long the race used to be a few races ago. maybe a little longer than it was this time and shorter than the first years . I mean the length of the program itself. Again maybe the live stream was longer and showed more than what I was able to see on ESPN. It was nice not to have to dedicate the entire day to watch it. But I remember one year, I started watching it and the racing was so intense I watched the entire program and then wondered how so much time had passed by. And then Pulp was talking about how it was too long. And then the rain. WHo would have thought it would rain ! that sucked. If only it held off for a few hours. It would have been cool to see Kenny And marvin on a dry track. They both seemed to not like how the rain changed it up.

I do not think RBSR was as good this year as it was at Pomona, but I am still glad I went and would have been bummed even knowing all of this had I not gone. I had very high expectations as the last time I went in 2017 it was just unbeatable. That being said - my personal opinion if they had wider walkways through the sand, and more beer stands (or at least faster bartenders - for the record I have never seen a slower bartender than the one we had) that would've helped the event. Also - get rid of the barrier the fans were stuck behind. If they let fans get as close to the track as they let you get at Pomona, I'm not sure I would have any complaints. It did kinda suck with the amount of space GA was given for standing room in front of the bleachers. Also open up the pits for fan access like it was.

The broadcast was really good. As for the live event it seems they were trying to cater to the fasthouse/805 wanna be sportster riding fan boys. As that's most of the cringey HB crowd anyway. Which kind of sucks because it was awesome at the old horse track in Pomona. Food lines weren't super long and you could sit anywhere you wanted in the bleachers and there was plenty of them. Was a smart move to watch it on TV this year. Hope they get it figured back out for next year cause straight rhythm is an awesome event.

I had an awesome time at the event. Was lucky enough to get there early and sneak into the pits and wander around. Izer and Kelly were fine I enjoyed them and my casual moto friend thought they were entertaining. My biggest complaint was the stands were full of drunken partiers who barely noticed a race going and most of them didn't even have the grandstand wristbands.

That said I’ll give mine. It would be very boring to me if it were just strictly bikes, and dead silence waiting on the next bikes to line up.
The OP never suggested dead silence.

If they did it at Del Mar, they'd have to put down at least one rider after every race season like they do with the horses.

There was nothing “wrong” with the event. Could a few things be improved? Yes, as I am sure they will do next year after this new venue learning experience.

Can’t make everyone happy, but dam I believe the bulk of the crowd had a blast nonetheless.

My take on the event with some good and bad.

Goods:
- Cool track layout. The big table top was pretty epic, would be cool to see two of those.

- Best shirt of the event.

- Plastic temporary walk ways. Made a lot easier then walking on beach sand.

- Bathroom set-up was not bad.

- The grandstand I was sitting in, this guy was working his ass off keeping people from standing in front of the first 3 rows. Red Bull did not pay this guy enough.

The Bad:

- WTF was up with the grandstand sitting? Blue arm band ($65.00) grandstand, red arm band ($45.00) down in the dirt. They just let everyone up in the grandstands. We had about
10 people in our area with red arm bands on, who were drunk, smoking and wanted to fight everyone. They failed major on ticket sells and security on who gets in what area.

- Announcing, simple, horrible or I should say HORRIBLE.

- Food/ food trucks was set up for 100 people, which there was over 15,000. Over an hour to get food. I watched people go get food and get back about hour and a half latter. Big fail

- Not much fan/rider interaction. Think AP was the only one to come over on the fan side.

- Felt sorry with moms with baby strollers and also wheelchairs. Watching Moms trying to push baby strollers through the beach sand looked tough. (They did have a handicap section).

I had fun but I think Red Bull failed overall, but I’m sure the money they made will make it to the bank.

How about this:
2023 Red Bull / Monster Straight Rhythm Shootout.

Red Bull against Monster.
I was there too, and was supremely disappointed compared to the previous events in Pomona. Though, this won't be a complete bag on the event. The location was cool, and very easy to get to via bicycle. Sheer presence was quite the spectacle. Here's my criticism...As noted above, with red banded wearers in the grand stands, they shouldn't have been there. The red bands were used to just prove to the bar keeps you were of legal drinking age. Bet you the lack luster security they had really had no clue. Just thought "wrist band=access" regardless of color. As general admission should have had access to both sides of the track. Trying to navigate the beach, with the crowd they had, was horrible. Basically was choose a spot to watch from, and don't move. The fact they didn't have the pit side of the track open was not cool at all. In all previous years you had pit access, and better track viewing access. Need more vendors. Lines were longer than you'd ever expect, and the drink vendors were selling out half way through the event. Whoever was running the media on the large monitors, forgot to actually put the names of the riders when presenting the next bracket/race. Didn't know who was who. The music was annoying, too loud.

If I were to attend another event, I'd say give us access to both sides of the track (have a tunnel jump we could walk under/through), have more walk ways installed, even if it's cheap plywood, be more transparent about what access general admission has, and actually make the track a half mile long. This one was only a third of a mile.

Unfortunately, we lost communication with our producer in our ear and consistent scoring and timing the entire race day after a flawless rehearsal on Friday and Saturday morning. We were flying blind all day, literally, since our vantage point was blocked by the stands and the big tabletop.

A lot of talented people put on an amazing event, and I sincerely apologize if this diminished your experience in any way. We tried our best to minimize the damage and keep it as seamless as possible, but it was unacceptable in keeping with the standards of the event. It had us off balance and out of sync, obviously.

I'm not a fan of loud music or over-the-top sound effects either, especially when the two stroke soundtrack needs no help. We had no control over that aspect, but we understand the feedback, too.

Thank you for clarifying. I can't imagine the orchestration required to put on an event like this. Appreciate you reading our feedback, and hopefully implement our suggestions in the next event.
