I said that in other topic, but I really think they gotta change everything... otherwise is just a sterile copy from Feld's SX.
They should try to invest all that $ into promising youngsters from other countries instead of just paying semi-retired US riders. Like getting some MX champions from several national championships (colombia, south korea, nigeria, latvia, ireland...). Make a good presentation of these characters and give them a go! And PLEASE use other bikes. What is the point in this? The teams are not REAL MANUFACTURER teams. RUN 2 STROKE bikes FFS. It CANT go wrong... jeeez... And bring electric bikes to the mix before Feld does. Mix them!

I truly feel the biggest issue as someone mentioned above was the amount of hype and the claims that WSX made and continue to make…. They way way way way way over hyped and way way way way way way under delivered. I’ve seen regional arena crosses that offered an overall viewing experience equal to WSX round 1 and that’s not a good thing for all the money spent and time invested into this event. I think if they don’t make dramatic improvements for round 2 in Australia we will likely see a half assed attempt at a 2023 “full series” and then it will fold up after that.

This wouldn’t hurt by any means.

Be more like ama supercross by having all the top sx talent at one event. That's about it other than you need more than two races to call it a series.

You've seen Tomac, Roczen and Reed in a regional arena cross that was televised live internationally?

Legitimate Supercross Whoops
No Metal Ramps
More “variety” in turn type/style.
A Sand Section.
No 6 or 8 lap “mains”…those are called “heats” Grinning
And, let’s be clear: Triple crown has been done…Been there, Done that. Make it something a little more worthy of the “World” title.

Simply start the night with “Solo Timed Qualifying” & award a point to the winners (both classes). Give an extra point to the 250 class winner if they out-qual the 450 class. Btw, what the hell is a “Super Pole” or ANYTHING “Pole” in SX?

At the Finale, next year, have a SXON. May need to start with only one rider per nation?

Back away from OVER-DOING all this goofy “World” & “Global” speak. Don’t go there until you’re on 3, 4 or 5 continents and have a legitimate series.

Clean up the technical problems on the tv package.

Create a much more co-operative spirit -AND CALENDAR- going forward. STF AWAY from schedule conflicts with AMA SX, MX & SMX. STF AWAY from MXGP & MXON, as well.

Ultimately October thru December can be FIM World SX Season. Yes, October…SMX & MXON are suppose to start happening earlier as things evolve over the next few years. In the meantime, World SX needs to start AFTER the aforementioned races. Otherwise, it’s just going to continue to be an “Us versus Them” shit show.

Now, contrary to what some might assume…

I like ALL OF IT.
Hell, I love it!
More racing opportunities for all.
And…I want Adam and his mates to succeed; but, I want them to be less adversarial and more a part of “all things moto”.

I just finished watching it, took 2 nites on DvR. Random thoughts
1. No metal ramps in SX… please
2. The 3 main events in succession are rushed…I prefer the traditional heats, semi”s and LCQ”s and longer main event
3. I”m confused… is it a GP? SX? WSX? Can they just call the classes 250. & 450…
4. Seems like they are trying to reference the current SX series with previous results ect. Why not just embrace your New series.
5. Seems like a missed opportunity to get some new broadcasters in the booth….
6. Track obviously needs improvement for better racing…
7. Superpole kind of cool….
8. Riding gear is kind of ugly these days….
9. Pretty cool that fans in other countries have an opportunity to see SX live..
10. Initially I was indifferent to this series but after some thought, I think a little competition for Feld & MX sports will be a benefit the long run….

1) Get rid of Ralph & Jeff
2) build a legit SX track with an actual start straight, bowl turns, and whoops
3) improve the lighting/production(felt like it was filmed in a dingy basement)
4) Just stop already with the "World Championship" BS until you have an actual series
5) overhaul the format. Last night felt like they had 30 (3min) races on an arena cross track
6) Announce the podium in the correct order
7) Broadcast the race on same day as event in US
8) Dutch the super pole. This is SX, there isn't a pole position and otherwise feels like a gimmick/time filler
9) get rid of the metal ramp
10) learn to under-promise and over-deliver

1. Ralph has to go, he sucked in AMA sx, and he still sucks now.

2. The event needs a better framing. 99% of the track were filled with WSX logos and it looked like a bad version of some event that the sovjet union had made. It lacked show and flair.

3. Better leaderboards on the broadcast, the frames on the left side on the screen were so small it was hard to see the riders names.

4. Make the first two heats longer, and mix it up with 250 and 450. the riders need to catch their breath so they can run at 100% the whole motos.

5. Less 90 degree turns.

Would be interested to know if you think FELD’s supercross is perfect?

Is there anything you think needs improvement with American SX? Anything at all?

What people fail to understand is- if there is no competition, then it’s inevitable that standards and conditions will drop.
Payouts get smaller, demands get bigger, restrictions get tighter..

The competition from WSX will force FELD to smarten up or risk losing it.

Just as an example- there’s Plenty of complaints about FELD not allowing riders to sell merch… wait til WSX DOES allow it & watch FELD follow suit!

And let’s see if WSX start poaching riders personal sponsors.

Just curious what’s peoples issue with the ramp? I don’t see how being made out of metal or dirt makes much of a difference?
Surely having that ramp just saves a tonne of dirt for elsewhere whilst also giving us better finish line whips etc?

What am I missing?

People don’t like change mate.

It’s odd though- fans harp on about rider safety and when a promoter eliminates one aspect which could cause a safety concern, they complain about that too?!

A metal ramp provides consistent, near perfect traction, with no chance of rutting or cupping out.
I can’t think of any negatives to using it.

Personally I think
- On board cameras are a good idea they need to figure out better quality and add names when they show them
- Jeff and Ralf need to be replaced

I like all of the graphics they had done they seemed very well put together.
The graphics were horrible. I could barely read the tiny print on my 75" TV.

2 questions:

1) were riders required to wear chest protectors? I barely recognized Wilson and Seely on their bikes because their chest protectors made them look like big beefy dudes.

2) what was with the countdown timer on display during the Superpole? What happens when it expires?

Hard to imagine someone thinks a metal ramp provides perfect traction. But if one metal ramp is better why not use 20 metal ramps? I’m still not getting why they had a metal ramp in a Supercross race but then again these are the revolutionary masterminds who are going to reinvent the sport. Imagine if it rains on a metal ramp that then gets mud dragged onto the surface. I’m still stuck on the fact that they hired a guy to come beat up on all the other guys they are trying to forge a working relationship with. They clearly looked at the assembled talent and even they realized that it wasn’t good enough. I wonder how many guys they tried to throw money at who had to turn it down.

This is the good thing that already came out of WSX. US Supercross/MX has already taken strides to retain their talent. It’s also going to be less attractive to do SX only starting next year $$-wise thanks to WSX trying to poach talent. It reminds me of boxing which has all these different federations which results in a thinning out of talent. The product is what suffers ultimately. All you positive guys thinking it’s good for the sport aren’t able to look past having MORE races to watch. These guys will poach a few next year, probably Tomac since he’s doing SX only. While the AMA is doing their new fall series, you’ll be wishing those guys were home competing in that series instead of in WSX.

I don't get it either. 1 metal ramp is fine, it's something different and requires a different technique to get over faster. Just make sure there's a clear path around it or make it safe to roll.

And like others ha e already said in here, this series succeeding only helps out riders in our series. Before this series even started it already gave us bigger payouts and relaxed merch restrictions. I hope this series thrives just enough to keep our top talent here and well compensated, makes life easier on our privateers, and gives more options to guys like LeBlanc, who a lot of people feel should get more time to come into his own. Look at Derek Drake, he got chewed up and spit out here, this is a new beginning for him.

How safe are metal ramps in the rain?

Do they get slippery when they are wet?
10/11/2022 5:30am
I stopped watching halfway through & still haven't gone back to the DVR or even highlights. I hope they keep it going so people around the world can see some live SX, but it just didn't work for me. No way am I interested in listening to Ralph's forced energy & Jeff's huck a buck bullshit again.

Matty B's 2 stroke race videos were way more entertaining to me.

Nope but “I’ve seen regional arena crosses that offered an overall viewing experience equal to WSX round 1” as I very clearly stated in my original comment.

I agree with everything said here! I did really enjoy the event and racing.

The title can be confusing: British GP For World Super Cross. The "GP Race". I get they can't call it "Mains" but they should have came up with something other than GP.

Can they at least show a schedule up-front or explain what they are talking about? As a pretty hard-core moto fan I was confused when they were like "...he's up next in the GP Super Pole after this heat race" Uh...Timed qualifying after a heat race? Super Pole? What?

Did they not test the on-board camera's prior to the races? The quality was there at times, but it was very blurry and half the time you couldn't tell what was going on. I noticed Anstie had a helmet mounted GoPro, can we get that footage live? Most of the time it took away from the racing though. I like it, but it should only be used for replays IMO.

The stadium had poor ventilation which led to poorer than normal video quality. I haven't seen an arena that smokey on TV since 2 strokes.

Onboard cameras no idea what's required to run a perfect onboard stream but either get it right or scrap it

That's about it.

I like their vision on what they want to achieve I just hope they have 5 years in them financially it's the only way this product will work, I don't think they do expect but you can't expect a brand new series to have stacked field when most of the riders are in contract, eventually when they have a full calendar the riders are going to have to choose US series and world series, like I said in time they will be able to lure great riders across the globe, this will spark more incentive for the Euro/International riders to practice Motocross to run in this series, I just hope the WSX guys have it in them to stick it out long term, because short term I'd imagine is going to be pretty rough.
