For sure man, even later in the night where it didn't really seem any faster, and was obviously way riskier, but the crowd were still loving it so he just kept sending it... Solid show Kenny put on.

Feel bad for him loosing the front early on, dude can't catch a break, but unbelievable skill and style seeing it in person.

Tomac though - Even through the whoops the guy just absolutely drives through whatever's in front of him, such a beast, I am jealous of you guys in the US who got to see him and Sexton going at it in person this outdoor season.

Always love for my boy Kenny, I hope he gets a sick ride again next year. But let's be honest, it's not like he went to WSX for free. Laughing

I was kinda bummed to see him being disappointed after race 3, I think he expected more out of himself after topping times and superpole. But let's be honest, you don't just go out on a new bike and beat the best Tomac ever, even without the crash in moto 1, average starts in moto 2 and 3 surely didn't help him.

The other Genuine Honda racing bikes didn’t have a prominent Red Bull sticker on the rad shrouds?!

Maybe I could’ve asked Kenny to put my company logo on the side of his bike if it is going free??

Red Bull pays him a lot every month to be his sponsor, that doesn't mean they fund this specific event. They pay him so that he represents them in general.

Ken did what he was contracted and paid handsomely to do. Yeah, the quad was cool but I guess I just don’t understand the “hero” angle being pushed in the original post.

Due to his personal sponsors conflicting with the Genuine team’s, they let him run his own look. Comments around the industry put the per race funds from SX Global to be around 200-250k per race. Kenny signed up to do the whole series so he needed to be attached to a team to do so. A one-off entry like Tomac, on his own bike, can only be run one race as a wild card. Eli can’t do round two.

Because Genuine made a deal to provide equitpment to Kenny, they got him for both rounds with the series basically paying his salary. Genuine still gets love to their team branding and a better placing in the team championship.

From some sources, including one at Red Bull, the relationship has been a bit strained the past year or so. Putting them on the bike and doing Straight Rhythm seems to be a good step towards getting on track.

Who are these top guys who didn't want to go ???? .I am sure some were nt allowed . But other s would have been over in a second if they were getting paid what ken was getting payed to come over.

At the end of the day, the stats will say Roczen was on that team regardless what his gear or graphics were. I agree it’s strange to be on a team and make yourself look completely different and not run the teams sponsors but guess which team will be able to say they won the WSX championship?

I don’t think this will be the norm as I don’t think that is what the promoters or teams want but I can see why it’s happening. For the pilot season I can, as a fan, look past it but if they continue to bend their goals/rules and change what they want the series to be it will just lose its integrity of what they are preaching it to be. If they want to go against the two premier motocross series in the world then so be it but what good is an idea if you don’t stick to it? Is it strictly team ran or is it whoever you can get to race the series?

Last I knew, Honda mechanics are all contracted and not Honda employees. Jordan’s contract might have expired along with Kenny’s, so he might be a free agent at the moment.
