Hats off, I see a gender reversal here. Typically women like to over argue senseless topics.

When you have too many guys not moving up, the opportunities for the Amateur guys are limited, and when you think that all of these guys are still in 250 COS THEY HAVENT FUCKING BEEN GOOD ENOUGH TO WIN, it boils my piss.

Bear in mind they only have to win a half championship to boot, the point out criteria needs addressing.

By doing that , you get a stronger 450 class, they can bleat ' but i cant win in 450'... well suck it up buttercup, you had 5 years avoiding the other fast guys on 250's and didnt do enough, move along.

Jmart didn't go pro until age 18-19. forkner is getting to the point where would now have to move up under this rule. Sexton obviously has nothing to do with this discussion as he moved up on his own at appropriate age. Same with Eli. Mcadoo is no ones role model for anything. Swoll is just a diversity hire. And i have no idea who Brown even is
Headline - "Diversity hire" Swoll wins National, confuses everyone - he's not supposed to do that.
It's strange that you use the diversity hire slander as a woke social justice comment, then suggest the same "woke social justice" approach to punish riders who are older but faster than the new generation.

The 250 class is a professional class. I expect the fastest riders on 250s to be in that class, and I could not care less how old any of them are.

This is my only account, and i made this account because I'm really getting tired of seeing these kids flunk out with little to no opportunity while older guys like hampshire and smith just fester and stagnate burning through a failed season after another.
So Hampshire should of been cut off at a younger age is what you are saying?

Damn you must not have talked to anyone in the industry about this season's whoops and no Virginia, the whoops were not gnarlier in the 2000s. This year was also the first year the whoops were stupid at A1 and got worse from there on out. This year also was no accident and resulted from someone who has never raced having input on track design.

Who needs enemies with friend's like y'all. I've seen each and every one of you trash riders who don't perform to your expectations, complain about trivial things, fight within and make futile accusations against each other, and even make threats of violence towards each other.

Honestly this site is not a good site and there are not good people here. When i make a post its because I'm trying to intentionally piss y'all off and provoke fights against each other.

Ask Jett, Jo, Hunter, JMart, Sexton, Eli, Marchbanks, Swoll, Brown, McAdoo, Forkner, etc. They all performed well at 16 - 17 years old against older dudes.

I was talking about Pierce Brown, not Mike Brown. Pretty sure Mike Brown was in his 20's when he won/podiumed the first time.

It's not about "controlling production". We are talking about fucking EMPLOYMENT here. Are you saying that you support age discrimination in the job market?

For the 3rd time, answer my question

Why should older riders get pushed out for younger riders if they are faster? Do they deserve the job more?

First of all, I clearly articulated an answer to that question in my previous post. And "controlling production" simply alluded to the owners of the race teams. I agreed with your point, that in a totally open and free market, the business (or the one controlling production) should and does have absolute say over who he hires.

But again, we're not talking about changing employment rules, or "age based discrimination." We're simply talking about changing the rules of the game, which is a valid and legal thing to do. You can have an age cap, you can have a "points" system like currently in place (which will inevitably favor the injury prone and those that throw away races).

But to answer your question: a third or fourth time: its not about the 18-19 year old being "more deserving" of the job. Its simply a rule for the game, which happens to be better for the sport in general by helping younger riders develop and pushing more depth to the main class which is the 450 class

You absolutely are talking about "changing employment rules".

You are wanting to set a rule where someone over a certain age cannot have that paying position at Star Yamaha or a satellite team.

And make no mistake, we are talking about a real JOB here where someone gets to make some money to put food on the table for him and his family or not.
Let’s be real - paid professional athlete positions are not real jobs. If they want a real job to feed their families go and get a trade or degree or start a business that adds value to society.

Yeah right on. I don’t get the fascination of athletes everyone has. I was a basketball star and had games especially my last one. Where your playing better than you could ever Dream. Your always in a deep zone where you can’t hear the crowd screaming.even While you do your moves to break to your kill shot- buzzer beater game winner. Yes it’s a Rush. But having a whole game where everything you did felt different . Every shot went in , make hard contact with 2 players and reverse dunk, etc. people ask what it felt like . It’s like a heavy deep dream fantasy your playing to out the dream. And you don’t want it to end because it feels so good inside too. A few riders had rides like that Robby Reynard comes to mind, 98 unadilla.

Correction your playing to out play the dream. NBA players rarely have those games. But when they do they really can’t explain it. Just like the riders that won 1 time.

The problem is you would be pushing too many riders out of a job. As it is now there are not enough factory 450 rides to support East and West coast champions that are pointing out of the 250s.

Maybe it’s time to stop looking at the 250 class as an entry level, or stepping stone, class…and just acknowledge it for what it is…a professional racing class. Some guys are better on 250’s, I don’t see any reason to force them to ride a 450 (and visa versa)..,,

If there needs to be a stepping stone or entry class…then create one…make it 250’s, all stock…with the exception of suspension springs…maybe even add salary and bonus caps to it, to prevent good riders from camping out there.

I'm still trying to figure out how the system is broken because a factory rider wasn't re-signed after he finished outside the top-20. He had all the tools to make it happen and he didn't. Blame Star if you're going to blame anybody.

I gave up MX to do just what you described; went to school and built 2 successful enterprise software businesses to put food on the table and create a good life and opportunities for my family. Before that, I worked for over 10 years in a peach orchard in the blazing heat...still have the calluses on my hands all these years later. Not a coal mine, but close. The point is I know the spectrum of what a "job" is.

I don't know about other sports, but you can't be successful at the professional level in this sport if you don't treat it like a job. Busting your ass everyday to do the best with what you're given is a job. You think these guys love grinding out multiple 45's EVERY day in the hellholes like The Farm and Aldon's and then hitting the gym for 3 hours EVERY day aren't doing that? And doing it day after day and year after year. That's a job to me, even with both my backgrounds.

These riders do not live in the world of dirt bikes that most of us know/knew. Saturdays are glamourous, but Sun-Fri is not, the window of revenue opportunity is not, and the risk being taken is not.

Here's the real bottom line: These are paid employment opportunities. That makes them jobs. Each opportunity goes to person A over person B for a reason. As a business owner I dictate employment decisions based on talent, hard work, and results. Using most any other reason for picking person A over B is bullshit in my book. My point to the OP was simply that anyone that does the hard work that success in this sport requires should not be minimized or excluded by their age.

I think a 3 class format would benefit everyone specifically is, lites (16-22), 250, 450 classes no age limits, probably a bad idea but it solves some of these older dudes just killing the rookies. And gives the sport a chance to grow, almost any other sport has college to prep for the pros, we just don’t have many or enough amateur racing and it’s usually on a non pro track.

Yes they work damn hard but if feeding a family is a priority or even a consideration there’s far more effective ways to do it.

Don’t get me wrong - the riders should absolutely get as much money as they can bargain for in their contracts; they’d be mad not too.

But let’s not kid ourselves - they are, like most professional athletes, in it for the glory of winning and the lure of the massive paycheck if they reach the pinnacle.
