Got a scoop last night at ZMAX Dragway that NHRA Top Fuel Pilot Alex Laughlin found a way to get at Travis Pastrana for not ever driving anything powered by Nitro (nitromethane fuel) after naming his business ’Nitro Circus’ and everything else nitro… Travis will be strapping in a Top Fuel Dragster supposedly Monday after the race in Charlotte 😁

That will be interesting. I seriously doubt he will do the full 1000 yards under full power.

Interesting. When has he ever NOT done anything all the way under full power?

This is what the sport desperately needs. Someone like Travis could bring in a younger/new fan base.

Still about as interesting as watching paint dry.

There is so much awsome things to do with a car, and drag racing is not one of them.

On tv I agree. Top fuel is something you must experience in person to appreciate

100% if you have never been to either finals or top fuel qualifying on Saturday, you are missing out big time. Most amazing thing you can see as a motohead. I love browsing the pits and watching the startups. Pro tip, take a respirator with you.

Says someone who has obviously not witnessed Nitro cars in person go down the track… Tony Stewart would not have started a multi million $ 2 car Nitro team for the NHRA top series here in 2022 if it was as fun as watching paint dry 🤨

I sat in my buddy's nitro funny on the stand, and did a "switch to nitro" warm-up.

There's no way I could make myself do just a burn-out.
Scary as hell.

It’s amazing how the team can rebuild an engine between rounds like they do. Watch a top fuel dragster or funny car from the starting line for part of a day then at the end of the track part of the day. It’s an amazing display of power.

I'm sure Tony's wife, Leah Pruett, had a little something to say about him getting into TF racing.

There really isn't alot of driving involved, throttle wise. The throttle pedal isn't really soft and progressive. It's either opened of closed.

I'm sure it will take him a few hits to work him up to 1000'. It's not a super comp dragster.

Pro tip bring ear plugs. The ringing in your ears will thank you.

But seriously those cars blowing past you is like nothing else. I've seen f1 motogp ect. But when you can feel them pass you its crazy to think what their feeling.

I have been to drag racing, about as interesting as Hill climb or other lame motor sports.

I want to watch real driving, F1, Rally, Rally X etc. Sure a dragster can sound and feel agressive when you watch it the first time, but after one pass it’s like ”meh” and then it just continues all over again.

And having Travis in the car won’t change that one bit.

Question still not answered… Have you been to a NHRA race with Nitro Top Fuel and Funny Car?

Some Po-Dunk track in the sticks somewhere with Honda civics and whatever else does not compare to over 2 12,000 horsepower cars going down the track 0-330 mph in 3.6 seconds from a dead stop 🤨

With his history of head injures I hope he can handle the level of acceleration and deceleration these cars have during run. Even worse if he gets into tire shake.

If a top fueler doesn't get your blood flowing you might want to talk to your doc about cialis

Sorry, not a fan of massive power going in a straight line. I bet that you could get a kick out of driving it, but watching dragracing is not for me when i can watch real racing.

He isn't going to be doing a 3.9 / 338mph run. Whistling

F1 has a button to push for passing

So does a Top Fuel car.

Actually Indy has the "push to pass" button, F1 has different maps, and DRS.

Did you know the drivers briefly black out from the g forces? A good buddy of mine went in a 2 seater. Very short black out. When he asked the driver, the driver told him it's a very common occurrence for most of the drivers.
