Remember when freestyle was more than wheelies and transfer jumps? I remember when

Those who think this is nothing special are the same kind of simpletons who think motocross must be easy because “the bike does all the work”. They have no idea the scale of the g-forces and physics involved. They don’t understand mathematics to appreciate the precision needed and how, the faster you’re going, the smaller your window of time to get your angles, throttle, weighting, etc exactly right.

Babbling baboons gonna babble.

I’d been happy just hitting the first jump leading up to the big one. Lol those guys are crazy. And yes it takes a shit ton of skill to ride the courses they ride. How can anyone think not? Been riding my whole life and at my best in my mid twenties racing the local A class I wouldn’t have dreamed of hitting half of anything they hit. Literally beyond comprehension.

If you think successfully hitting a 185ft gap requires no skill, you might be a moran.

That was truly insane and badass.

Not only the skill, but the insane dimensional awareness this guy have blows my mind. Same goes for Hodges, not a fan of any of both, but it's genius tier what they are able to pull.

To all those saying it's lame because it's not an organized race, do you yell at restaurant patrons who order things you wouldn't have ordered?

Having fun on a dirt bike is cool. Bring back the pros doing free ride videos! I wanna see Jett and Anderson in the hills doing stuff we'd never think of.

December of 98 my friend and I loaded up the bikes and pointed the pickup south from Bend Oregon. We ended up in Beaumont and it's insane hits that all the movies had at that time. There was some iteration of this jump on this hill and I hit it in 4th and caught the most air ever. All were dead sailors because a trickster, I was not. These local kids said that I was catching enough air to lay some fat whips down. If only I could. Smile Thanks ML for the 2016 post. I wish I could get the link to load. It's a 24 photo shoot with auto play might have something to do with it. http://www.vitalmx.com/photos/features/Rain-in-SoCal-To-the-Hills-of-Be…

Crazy how a thread can get derailed so quickly because some idiot claims these guys have no skill! Everybody here that's ever thrown a leg over a dirt bike knows everything these guys are doing is skill and precision! I remember standing in line at tech I believe it was at Glen Helen Tyler rode up with his bike completely hammered seat shredded from his knee braces grips worn off bar ends showing! Through a set of grips on it so he get through Tech kid just wanted to race his dirt bike! And now he's making a good living doing what he loves to do props to him!

I don’t think anyone was claiming there was “no skill” involved. But the fact that doing these large jumps is essentially just freestyle without any underlying trick, makes some of us believe it’s not motocross related. The whole board could never be bogged down with guys doing double backflips and such, but just in this case you have a guy basically doing freestyle without any trick aka free riding. And then to hear everyone obsessing over this as if it’s the best thing ever. Berryman should line up for a race if he needs attention

No shit. I’m pretty computer dumb so I don’t know how difficult it would be to do so, but I’m assuming ML is either smart enough to figure it out or could pay some IT contractor to do it. It’s getting to the point where I am getting sick of visiting because every thread is just Sloan spewing shit to piss people off. That guy sucks.

IP blocks don’t work anymore due to the large usage of VPNs. It randomizes it every time they login, so it rarely matches an old account.

Or he could create multiple accounts on Vital instead of taking the hint, like you do. Go away.

Hahahaha love me some Vital… y’all are able to determine my skill level by a post? That’s alright. Y’all are flabbergasted and I’m not impressed. What skill was involved? I’ll go to your side of things.

He has to land the first jump successfully and then balance the weight of a 220 lbs machine as it rips out from under him on the way to the next jump. He has to have perfect throttle control on the way to the next jump. So he pins the throttle and goes as fast as he can. Then he has to precisely angle his bike so that it comes off the 20 ft wide face to send him at the right trajectory to land precisely half way down the landing. 5 feet longer or shorter, he’ll be ok but the precision of the landing space is important.

That jump takes a lot of courage. No doubt he is a skilled rider. This video shows the guts, not the skill. Hate away.
Your girlfriend goes to a different school too, right?

That’s not what I see, says he scored points in 250SX East and West. Then says he qualified in both 250 and 450 outdoors, which all shows to be true in the vault…

Here are a couple of non-moto photos from this sacreligious event. Just to further derail this thread. Can't believe we have to scroll through this garbage during the offseason, All we want is some darn real dirt bike content.... I bet non of these dudes have even done 120 hour motos at Namur in the snow.

Yes you do strike me as the type who cherishes and sympathizes with those who take the “easy way out” and try to make money off of goofy little hill jump instagram clips, instead of actually lining up and doing battle with the men on Saturday. Again, this is moto related sir . We don’t discuss jumps through hoops of fire and Superman seat grabs here

I’ve jumped a couple “sick jumps” in my day and then watched video. They looked dumb or tiny. These are and look insane. I can’t imagine in person!

If you’d just meet Tyler or Colby or Axel or etc in person you’d realize how much they love dirt bikes, competition, and being the best.

I swear, you build these guys a fun course to ride with a chance to make an impression, they will crush it while vibing off each other.

I’m been lucky enough to be just close enough to shake hands with each of these legends, and the two things they share is they love to moto and they thrive on going the biggest!

To anyone saying this is NON MOTO, please get the fuck out of here, no one likes you.

Secondly, the fact that he actually looked super confortable lauching himself into the freaking stratosphere and sticking the landing is scary. Mad props!
