This championship will look very refreshing with its mix of superenduro + supermotard. They are going to go after Rossi too, just like Extreme-E went after F1 and Rallying people.
The two genders thing will probably look like in Extreme-E where men is faster when theres no problems in the car.

I think of electric as an addition rather than replacement, more like BMX or skateboarding in the early days. SurRon and Kuberg riders are already leading the charge in some areas. There's opportunity to create something new and different while increasing the overall market.

Yeah, ok ..I'm sure it is a lot of fun, But honestly, just doesn't seem like a sport I would really be stoked about competing in or watching. Part of moto's allure is the competition of man and machine. The noise, Brrrrrrrrahhhhh, ahhhh

When the machine is electric it seems to lose some of the appeal. maybe just me.

Robbie Maddison (and the "XX" team member Sandra Keller, WMX rider) won the Test Event in France. It looked fun. I mean, there was a few riders, some beer and some biking around so yep, probably a fun day. All paid by the promoter. They posted some stuff on the instagram but nothing much. Im interested in this. Most of the clips are a 1x1 in two different layouts, which is really fun IMO.

By the way, E-Motion has assembled a e-motorcycle from their components.
(or for our regular VitalMX readers, "there components") .
It was made just for this class. Looks pretty good to me.

I think this is the bike Maddison raced in the test-event. Looks like a bicycle somehow, but I liked. The difference between the brands competing are very "visible" so far.

That's definitely a modified sur ron. I think electric dirtbikes make more sense at this scale than full size bikes like the Alta and Varge to compete with 250s and 450s. Create their own niche between downhill mtb and moto with performance expectations similar to a modern version of 100's and 125's from the 70's. Professional races should require a battery swap so companies are forced to develop efficiently swappable batteries and to keep the riding weight of the bike down.

Yes. This seems to be the idea behind this concept. They want to run on Urban centers, like eSC ( www.instagram.com/esc.live ) is doing too, so they cant have powerfull machines. And this series will come with "a message" about riding in the woods with your friends without "destroying the environment" and stuff - again, not a place for powerfull machines - or at your local tracks without disrupting the neighbourhood with noise, since cities are getting super denser nowadays...

Its interesting. Im curious!

The OMG Rich energy team are the official Sur Ron team I believe, or have at least direct factory support. Team manager/co ordinator of the project is a close friend.
The series looks exciting, and the format they look to be using will enable the races to go to some usually unobtainable locations around the globe.
The test event they had a couple of weeks ago looked very cool and hopefully it delivers what the promotors want.

No updates on social media since october 24 and they never posted the final race of the season

I liked the idea of this championship but it was not enough, apparently. 
We know MXGP is planning a class for the e-bikes for 2027 (if I remember correctly) but I still think the proper way would be to allow them to compete all together, like Super Enduro did under the new promoter, SportUP Agency, from Poland. (KTM Group's dont have enough money anymore to order a ban on the e-bikes hehe) .

e-bikes and regular bikes together are my favorite ideia so far. 
they tried to make rallycross go full electric in europe, it almost killed the sport, now they allow evs and internal combustion cars to compete together. WAY better imo. ANyway....

MXEP was supposed to happen in 2026 but they backed off, it's dead. Stark wasn't ready to invest to compete against itself.

Money is keeping them out of SMX for now, they've talked about some kind of exhibition electric class at a few selected rounds some time in the future... probably won't happen until Honda or another big OEM finally releases its own electric dirtbike.
