I don't remember Bud ever publically commenting on the situation. DC has commented but he's too classy to give the down and dirty. Of course the bottom line is money...always is...always will be...but sometimes that's the short view. Any time the national or MXdN is held at GH it only cements their iconic status. I've personally met folks from around the world that come to the states "just" to see and ride GH.

Maybe Bud views this as a position of negotiating power...idk. I do know that more exposure means more money. That track is too awesome to not be part of the series.

It seems like it is less about money and more about control of the National event.

I surely don't know. It would be nice to hear the truth.

Honestly this sport is embarrassing at times to be associated with, when you see the way adults behave. Glen Helen obviously is a very successful track, having most weekends filled with events, with many participants and attendees. It is also one of the best MX tracks in America if not the world. That DC can't find a way to settle differences in the interest of furthering the sport's credibility and affluence on the stage of premier sports is absolutely astonishing. Every person involved in the sport knows Glen Helen is the place to hold the national in southern California, grown men need to bite the bullet and put it there. Good grief.

I don’t know about twice but at least once Bud went back on the contract. Assuming that’s why MXSportsneeds a middle man to have a national there

I’m just here to say Myron has ALWAYS done right by me. To each their own opinion, that’s mine. I think most of you have your assumptions based on chit chat going around rather that facts about the guy. Go read ML’s comments and you’ll see mx sports has prior history with Bud and that’s why there is no race there currently. Myron as a promoter and businessman had the rights to round one and twelve. You think he’s just gonna give that up because Mitch wants to run a race at glen helen? Lol promoting is his business it’s how he makes a living how would it make sense for him to give it away without wanting a cut?

It’s not Myron’s fault someone else ruined glen Helen’s chances years ago.

Wonder if he has the rights to 2023 or if Mitch and Troy can slip in there and broker a deal themselves for a round.

If you can't trust those two to put on a national and have a good time as well as showcasing CA motocross as a priority, who can you trust to do it?

People can deny it all they want, I’ve heard the recording of the actual call. I was going to post it on vital the day after it happened, but that idea was scuttled because the person that sent it to me was threatened and I was told to not post it.
It’s out there, it’s true. I’ve heard it myself.

It’s dropping to eleven rounds in 2023 and I’m 99% sure all eleven rounds are already spoken for with contracts in hand and quite a few have contracts going past 2023.

Yeah I was just gonna say, didn't the owner of Cal City MX post it? It definitely happened.

This is a great point. I just went on their website and Calendar of Events and counted no less than 20 different promoters working with Glen Helen just so far this year. They have 2-3 events per weekend and some how have long term working relationships with all of these promoters except MXS? Seems like there is more to the story than just GH being "difficult" or "impossible" to work with.

MXSports holds 11 other Nationals a year with 11 promoters who are happy to work with them. Obviously they can successfully work with tracks.

See what I did there?

I can clearly see what you were "trying to do there", but your logic is flawed in two ways...1) You are assuming tttttthat these other 11 tracks are truly "independent" of the MXS/Coombs family (I think Washougal, Millville, and Hangtown are the only ones I would consider independent of the MSX/Coombs ties in one way or another) and 2) Assuming that they are "happy" to work with MXS. Do they have a choice? What would happen to some of those tracks without a National?
