I for one enjoy listening to someone who has been at the very top of the sport , and explaining what he's seeing. I hope they get him in there more often.

Neck burn is a reference to the pyrotechnics going off on the finish line jump for the winner of a SX race. James has mentioned in the past that you feel the heat from the fire on your exposed neck, calling it a neck burn. Neck burn = winner.

Wasn't really a fan of his racing but I really liked him as a commentator. For a first time it was probably one of the best. I'm sure he's not interested in traveling to the races week in and week out but if he was I wouldn't mad at him being the full time guy.

I will give him credit. He was way better than I thought he would be. I have a hard time listening to his podcasts. He was very entertaining for his first time doing any broadcast work.

It's a reference to when they "light the candles" when the winner of a SX race hits finish line jump on the last lap. In his podcast, James talked about the how hot those flames are on your neck, hence his term "neck burn" as a way to describe the race winner.

Respectfully, the most important comment is missing. Per Davey Coombs, he interviewed for a full time gig next year. I believe he made this comment a week or so after he was on the JS7 show.

Some people are easily impressed......excuse me while I whip this out.

Blubba is slightly more eloquent now than the monosyllabic moron he was when that Crusty video of him, RC and Pastrana in the motorhome was made in 1996 or 97, but not by much.

Undoubtedly he knows the topic fairly well, but he's by far the funniest guy he knows. The 37th time you use the same wisecrrack, it's not funny anymore "mister coffeeman 5". Yaaawn.

When I first saw the videos on youtube I couldn't make out who it was, but he sounded very blabby and not too smart......then the penny dropped.

Wonder if he was on Adderall?

Sorry, meant to hit backspace, not down vote. I kinda agree, James was good, but not great. Needs to slow his cadence a bit and move away from the nicknames, but not bad for a first-timer.

For his first crack at it I was extremely impressed. Yeah he wore out a few jokes but his analysis on the fly was extremely good. Give him a few more rounds and he would kill it from top to bottom.
