“20 Years of the scrub”

They’ve been putting together a lot of cool footage and work into this, especially getting James in the booth at Budds. But 20 years from his iconic broadcast scrub will be next year, 2023 and not this year. 🤦🏻‍♂️

From what I saw in the 90's and 2000's , people were scrubbing / staying low to a point , but James definitely brought it to a whole new level. Like 4 X the level anyone had ever seen on an MX bike. Wasn't actually called scrubbing back then , because nobody did it to that extreme. I'll never forget listening to David Bailey say " Whoa!!......did you just see James rip the bike flat off that hill? " ( I'm paraphrasing , but that was the gist of it ).

This makes me feel better, but like the OP, they keep saying "20 years ago" and showing him riding a 2003 KX125 and it's hurting a specific part of my brain.

This is the race/pictures they’re using to promote this weekend. And it’s driving me nuts because it’s from 2003 😂. Seven even posted a video on IG about it, and he has his 03 125 behind him.

Does anybody have a link to the video from that mnt saint helens frame grab? Remember being so excited for the season after seeing that..didn’t disappoint either, at least until thunder valley.
