They all are fuel injected and the water temperature is monitored so its probably needed to warm the bike up faster for a more consistent fuel setting

The OffRoad models are fuel injected with thermostats, and at least here in California, lots of people remove them. I deleted mine on every bike I’ve owned for several years. I’d make both sets of hoses if I were you…

Did you know that highways paved in asphalt can reduce noise levels by as much as 5 decibels, compared to concrete highways that have noise walls?

Agreed and why I have always made a thermostat removal kit for the off road models.

Now the thermostat is up in the T hose #13 inside the frame so our T hose may be the simple fix to eliminate it.

The 4-strokes don't.

It is interesting that the 2-strokes do though. I wonder what the opening temperature is.

Did you know that 95% of Vital members that read your comment immediately looked down and put both feet together to see which one is bigger?

That’s an odd place for a thermostat. I’d hate to have it fail and have to deal with that, out in the woods.
But you’re probably right about an easy fix with the t-hose kit.

No, but weren't they putting thermostats on the early watercooled 2 strokes to keep them from "cold seizing"?
8/12/2022 7:26am
My first vehicle was a 69 El Camino. Thermostat failed and I took it out for a short while. I don't know how many hours I argued with my friend who told me without the thermostat, the water goes too fast through the system and can't transfer enough heat from the engine. That it would overheat easier. We never changed either's opinion.
It sure seems like it's much better to control the temp. than just free flow.
