1 mile: 6:43
5k: 22:48
10k: 47:19
That has to be the only place where you look at Metric right?
Traditions. As dumb as they are lol.
“Double ought buck”
Always seemed incredibly strange to me. But that’s another topic entirely.
Those are some impressive times!
About the talking in metrics, when it comes to rowing and indoor cycling is the only time I talk about it that way. In a company Slack channel, I wasn’t sure who my audience was, if they were beginners or avid rowers, so I was referencing it in miles and got flamed for it. They got their spandex all up in a twist and said to refer to distances in metric if I’m going to share
Im in the 30+ class lmao
Pit Row
1 mile - 6:08
5K - 21:14
10K - 42:04
I run more than I cycle these days and I’m not spending more than 10minutes on a rowing machine for anyone!
Sounds like my Rowing days ( on the water, not in a room).
After my knees became too damaged to play RL and RU, with my High School being about 100 meters from the river, I took up Rowing (what an effing boring sport).
Anyway, my 3 Crew mates were all 6'6" or above. We were a "heavy weight" crew. I was 5'10" ( now shrunk to 5'7", on a 'good' day, through all my joint compression and wear).
So, this (relatively) little f**ker had to over extend and over compress to match those Big Bastards stroke length. I was a maniacally competitive Ranga, so I could / would do it. Our Coach always tried to get another Big Bastard in the shell to replace me, but none of them ever could bring our Crews times down. Plus, my mates told him "Bear Stays, or We Walk - Go F**ck Yourself" The Coach was our Vice Principal.........
About the only good thing about Rowing was the comradery, and well, the before and after interactions with the Girls Crews.
As for my fitness nowadays - I'm wrapped in Cotton Wool, after a major illness. All I do is 600 'Push Againsts' ( pair of Handlebars keyed into a bench edge at 900mm height, legs out about 1200mm from bench) as getting down and up for push ups is difficult) in 10 batches of 60, and 600 "arms with weight" (only 2kg each arm) in 5 reps of 120. And, a bit of spinning up and down besides the river, each day, and to the shops. Varies from 10 to 20ks (so, sweet FA) a day.
So, I'm a chubby mess
PS - can you "Catch a Crab" on those fancy rowing machines? I imagine not, as such a thing could lead to a Lot of litigation. They could get bloody nasty when in the Shell, I telz yuz............

Similar to your issue, they won't duplicate segments for sports and then filter by type... which is obviously the way that makes sense... instead they have excessive segments that the user can't compare. So if i'm ebiking one day and mtb'ing the next, I can't compare my downhill times, they're different segment names, measured differently from whomever created them...
I've talked to their techs and they basically say well we only do this because it's too much work – but it's really not and once they consolidated the database, it would repopulate and they could delete so many redundant segments...
I use garmin, keep it private. Used to have it push to Strava, but felt that got to facebookish for me, and dropped Strava. I like the idea of this thread here though.
I try to jog 1000+ miles a year. I ran for 1040 days straight, but fell asleep one evening in May and ended that streak. Started another one, but at only 40 days in, I ripped my ballsack last Thurs. while road biking and got 12 stitches. And well, I'm starting over again in probably a week. Worst thing besides sitting down, is that I was supposed to go open water swimming in Lake Huron Saturday, but with stitches that's a no-no.
Keep moving, that's my motto. Move until I'm 80+ is the goal
