'The Stolen Title', an updated and much expanded English edition of the book about Jaroslav Falta's life story, and in particular the '74 season, will be available later this year. It's finished and out for review at the moment.

Anthony Sutton at TMX News has provided this review-

“Mind-blowing motocross books don't come along too often, but this is definitely one of them. As I read it I wept, laughed, and learned, and found myself transported back to a time when motorcycle racers were as hard as nails, motorcycles were far from perfect, and cold-war skulduggery robbed Jaroslav Falta of a motocross World Championship title.”

I watched him at several British Grand Prix back in the day. He had an all-action style that was a pleasure to watch.

Only dude to win a sx race on a CZ.

The Czech riders were awesome to watch and j believe he was the best of them. I  saw him race a few times, never met him but he seemed like a great guy. Lots of pics of a huge smile. RIP legend

Thanks Reece, just ordered a copy, shipping was $6 and some change.  I met the whole CZ Team when I was a Beurn in 1974. Awesome experience.

Martina and copies of the book will be at MX rewind Unadilla in June. They are planning a tribute to Jaroslav. It is 45 years since the last time he raced there.

Martina was at our AHRMA Mid-Atlantic awards banquet ,and spoke for about a half hour. After the awards and dinner ,a bunch of us went into the bar for the "after party" and we spoke for about another 45 minutes or so. Very nice woman, it was obvious that she loved her father very much, as she broke down several times telling us some stories.  She told me that Jaroslav was still in super good shape and wasn't suffering from any health issues, but the day he passed, he  was complaining about being really tired,  and he was going to the kitchen to get  something to drink, and he went down in the kitchen. Very unexpected and tragic. He was one of my heroes when I was a young buck just getting into the sport in the early /mid 70's.  Anyway, I bought a few copies of the book and she signed them for us.  Great book, great story, great family

The 74 title thing was pretty raw. My friend was a die-hard CZ freak when we were growing up in 70s moto, and he'd scream Falta's name when was trying to pass someone. Tongue

Sent him a copy of this book, renewed connection after about 20 years.

So, I've been having to vet generative AI options for work and decided to test the free ChatGPT against the Falta episode, and it produced at least one hallucination, waffled, and omitted information.  ChatGPT is a Vitard!!
